~. Council Minutes of 11/17/87
-8-
' LEGISLATION (cont'd):
Ordinance No. 87-121 introduced by Mr. Wilamosky was given its first reading.
~ An ordinance amending the Traffic Control File of the City of North Olsmted
by providing for the installation of a "no parking between 8 A.M. and 4 P.M.,
Monday through Friday, School Days Only" sign on the south side of Southern
Avenue, between McKenzie and Burns Roads.
Miscellaneous Business:
President Saringer requested Chairman Wilamosky to schedule a Finance Committee
Meeting and invite RITA representatives to be in attendance to discuss and
properly carry through on the procedures with respect to delinquent tax payers.
Mr. Wilamosky scheduled a Finance Committee Meeting for Monday, November 23rd,
at 8 o'clock and requested Mayor Petrigac, Finance Director Boyle and Director
Cunningham to be in attendance to discuss balances of appropriations and specific
line item areas that need attention; also, the funding for preliminary engineer-
ing for Porter Road as outlined in Ordinance No. 87-120.
Mr. Wilamosky also stated that the language in Ordinance Ko. 87-11.5 is very
ambiguous - it seems to indicate that the City of North Olmsted would stand
responsible for the maintenance of hydrants on private .property. Law Director
responded that this particular piece of legislation had not been prepared by
him; if the Clerk of Council will forward the description and prints, he will
be glad to go over it and make recommendation.
President Saringer indicated that this is what committee meetings are for and
questions such as this should be dealt with. in committee. Mr. Wilamosky stated
that he did not think it unreasonable to have such questions brought forward at
a public forum; does not believe that every question a councilman might have
on a spec if is issue should haveā¢to be 1'imited to a committee meeting; questions
asked at an open forum are healthy.
Mr. Bohlmann scheduled a Legislative Committee Meeting for Monday, November 23rd,
at 7 P.M.; any interested members of council. are invited to be in .attendance.
Agrees with Mr. Wilamosky with respect to questions being asked in a public
forum. Also, believes that Mr. Cunningham should have an opportunity to speak
at a committee meeting, with RITA representatives also in attendance, to clear
up any misunderstandings with respect to the subpoena and court procedures.
Mr. Tallon scheduled a BZD Committee Meeting for Monday, November 30th, at
7:30 P.M ., with Building Commissioner and Acting Engineer to be in attendance.
Mayor Petrigac asked how involved the council wished to~be in workmens comp
discussions. President Saringer indicated that she felt a report to council
would be sufficient; if any councilman wished to be in attendance at the
meetings, Mayor could notify them of date and time.
Mr. Wilamosky moved to excuse the absence of Councilman McKay, second by Mr.
Bohlmann, unanimously approved.
The agenda being completed and there being no further business, President Saringer
adjourned the Council Meeting at 9:20 P.M.

~'
Florence E. Campbell, C1 of Council J et A. Saringer, Presi nt of Council
