..
Council Minutes of 10/20/87 '8-
In response to Mr. McKay's question about a charge for bagging leaves, Mayor
Petrigac responded that there is no charge; the work will be done by restitu-
tion youths, scouts who are working toward a Citizenship Badge and just plain
volunteers.
Mr. Tallon scheduled a BZD Committee Meeting for October 29th, at 8 P.M., and
requested the attendance of the Building Commissioner and. Acting Engineer.
Mr. O'Grady commented on some recent press headlines, particularly one in the
Journal which stated that city officials accused the Mayor of "scare tactics"
with regard to the Tax Levy Committee. As chairman of this committee, he
would like to state that Mayor Petrigac has worked tirelessly and on a
positive, upbeat basis in an effort to get the tax levy passed; would like
this to go in the record.
Finance Director Boyle also commented on newspaper coverage and affirmed that
he is still supportive of the income tax; believes the city does need the
money; is happy with the earmarking of funds as well as the way Council put it
on the ballot. While there are obviously some problems, they will be addressed
at another time. Would like it made clear right now that he is supporting the
income tax levy.
The agenda being completed and there being no further business, President Saringer
adjourned the Council Meeting at 9:40 P.M.
lorence E. Campbell Clerk of Council
J et A. Saringer, Presid of Council
