Y <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF .NORTH OLMSTED <br />SEPTEMBER 1, 1987 <br />Present: President Janet Saringer, Councilmen Bohlmann, Lackey, McKay, <br />Rademaker, Tallon, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Law Director M chae~ Gareau, Finance <br />Director Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council .Florence Campbell. <br />Absent: Councilman O`Grady. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Saringer at 8:30 P.M., in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting the <br />Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />Minutes of the regular <br />Minutes of the Public <br />Minutes of the regular <br />Minutes of the special <br />Minutes of the special <br />Minutes of the special <br />Minutes of the special <br />Council Meeting of July 7, 1987, were approved. <br />fearing of July 21, 1.987, were approved. <br />Council Meeting of July 21, 19.87, were approved. <br />Council Meeting of August 14, 1987, were approved. <br />Council Meeting of August 17, 1987, were approved. <br />Council Meeting of August 18,.1987, were approved.. <br />Council Meeting of August 26, 1987, were approved. <br />Mayor Petrigac reported: 1) Profits from the Pepsi machines in the Administration <br />lunch room, Bus Garage and Service Garage will all go to the van transportation <br />account. <br />2) Service Director has begun sending letters to about 60 residents, 15 at a <br />time, requesting them to disconnect their downspouts; this is permitted. through <br />Ordinance No. 83-151. Hopefully, .this action will reduce all sources of storm <br />water presently getting into. the sanitary sewer system. <br />3) AFSCME Local 2681 tentative agreement was rat if fed on July 28, 1987. <br />4) Lewis Road will be closed to all traffic. from Cedar Point Road beginning <br />Monday, August 31st, for approximately five months.. Drawings for the Lewis <br />Road Bridge Project are on file in Engineering Department. <br />5) Transportation Planning Project applied for in May of 1987 has been granted <br />by NOACA. City's proposed study has been selected for .the 1,988 Transportation <br />Link to Communities Program (TLC). Total cost is $5,40.0; North Olmsted's share <br />will be $1,350; project should be completed by June of 1988. <br />6) Board of Control met yesterday to review insurance bids.. Of the .three bids <br />received, one was not considered because it only covered risk insurance. The <br />two other bidders were Love Insurance and Arthur J. Gallagher. Board of Control <br />decided to split the bids and will purchase general liability insurance through <br />Arthur J. Gallagher and police, fire, EMR and public officials liability through <br />Love Insurance; total cost will be $260,434 which is a 507 savings over the cost <br />last year. By motion, the Board of Control requested that $95,000 be placed in <br />a reserved fund and Council will be receiving a memo concerning this. <br />7) City's float won first prize at the recent Homecoming; special thanks to <br />Director Noble and all who manned the City Information Booth. <br />8) Asks council to meet with the administration to appoint a committee to pass <br />the income tax; there are only two months left before the November election. <br /> <br />
