MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />AUGUST 14, 1.987 <br />Present: President Janet Saringer, Councilmen Bohlmann, Lackey, McKay, <br />O'Grady, Tallon, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell. <br />Absent: Councilman Rademaker. <br />Special Council Meeting. was called to order by President Saringer at 8:10 P.M,, <br />in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road. <br />Mr. Tallon, Chairman Building, Zoning and Development Committee reported: <br />1) BZD Committee Meeting was held on August 6th and the following proposals were <br />discussed: <br />a. Fotomat Corporation, 4665 Great Northern Boulevard, proposal <br />to construct building for film processing service and sales; approved by ARB and <br />Planning Commission with the recommendation to screen the air conditioning unit; <br />BZD Committee has no objection. Mr. Tallon moved Council approve the Fotomat <br />Corporation proposal as stated above, second by Mr. Bohlmann, unanimously approved. <br />b. Barlow Plaza, 30590 Lorain Road, proposal to construct mainten- <br />ance garage at rear of property. Access to the garage is hard, compact stone; <br />part of the motion to approve will include the stipulation that the access drive <br />must be completed within one year from the issuance of the permit. Proposal <br />approved by ARB and Planning Commission, with the concurrence of the BZD Committee. <br />Mr. Tallon moved Council approve the Barlow Plaza proposal as stated above and <br />with the stipulation that the access drive must be completed within one year from <br />the date of the issuance of the permit, second by Mr. Bohlmann, unanimously approved. <br />c. Carriage Carpet, 25151 Lorain Road, proposal to add an addition <br />to existing shopping center. ARB approved with the recommendation that trees at <br />rear of property be the same size as the existing trees for uniformity; also that <br />all lighting be "down" lighting and maintained on the property and approval by <br />the Engineering Department as to drainage. Mr. Tallon moved Council approve the <br />Carriage Carpet proposal as stated above, second by Mr. Bohlmann. Roll call on <br />motion: Affirmative vote: Bohlmann, Lackey, O'Grady, Tallon, Wilamosky. Negative <br />vote: McKay. 5 Aye - 1 Nay - Motion carried. <br />d. Procacini's Sohio Station, 29131 Lorain Road, proposal to con- <br />struct canopy. Approved by ARB and Planning Commission; variance granted by BZA <br />on July 1, 1987; Committee has no objection. Mr. Tallon moved Council approve <br />the Procacini's Sohio proposal as stated above, second by Mr. Bohlmann, unanimously <br />approved. <br />e. Jiffy Lube, south side of Lorain Road, proposal to construct <br />building. Sketch was presented showing the replacement of a straight up and down <br />roof with a mansard roof; Building Department will check drawings when they <br />are presented to be sure they meet city standards. BZD Committee has no objection; <br />recommends that all lighting be maintained on the property and be "down" lighting <br />and that the air conditioning equipment be covered by the new roof. Mr. Tallon <br />moved Council approve the Jiffy Lube proposal as stated above, second by Mr, Bohlmann, <br />unanimously approved. <br />
