Council Minutes of 6/2/8.7 -5-
Audience participation:
Mr. Sal Parrella, 28065 Angela Drive, thanked the administration for a quick
response with respect to the ditch he complained about at the last meeting;
it is being dredged .and cleaned out. Would like to know what else will be
done. Mayor responded that the city would be checking on the septic tanks
in that area with representatives from the County Board of Health. With re-
spect to the pitch of the sewer drain, causing stagnant, unmoving water, she
will confer with the Service Director and report back to Mr. Parrella tomorrow.
Mr. Robert Frindt, 4084 Clague Road, asked that the residents on Clague Road be
notified in a timely manner with respect to the reconstruction of Clague Road.
Mayor Petrigac advised that the proposal is being studied by the county right
now; it will be submitted to the county the first part of next year and then
around March of 1988 it will be resubmitted and a public hearing will be held,
at which time all residents will be notified so they may attend and give their
input. Mr. O'Grady requested a copy of the Letter Mayor Petrigac and City
Engineer Schaller wrote to the county since this affects his ward. Mr. McKay
indicated that he would also like to receive a copy of this letter, in fact,
it probably should be sent to all of council.
Lillian Kordish, Alden Drive, thanked the Mayor for requesting an ordinance
to ban certain types of entertainment in the City of North Olmsted; would
appreciate Council's prompt action on its passage. Also, asked how much
the leaf program cost the city. Mayor responded, "approximately $150,000".
Mrs. Kordish stated that this is one luxury the city could not afford; if
the city is trying to cut costs, the leaf pickup could be abolished. Mr.
Wilamosky stated that he did not believe the program was that expensive.
Labor makes up .the bulk of the cost and council has already appropriated revenues
for labor. If labor is subtracted from the total, the fuel is pro-rated, some
additional dollars are added for over-time and equipment maintenance, the city
is probably looking at a $35,000/$50,000 added cost to the money already
appropriated.
LEGISLATION:
Ordinance No. 87-36 introduced by Mayor Petrigac was given its third reading.
An ordinance to make appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures
of the City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 1987, as amended.
Mr. Wilamosky moved for adoption, second by Mr. Tallon, unanimously approved.
Ordinance No. 87-36 adopted.
Ordinance No. 87-37 introduced by Mr. O'Grady was given its third reading.
