}
-2-
Approximately 130 residents of Park West Estates attended the meeting and a
petition with 213 signatures from these homeowners was displayed to the Planning
Commission. In addition, petitions with 89 signatures from members of the
Colebrook Townhouse Condominium Association were presented to the Commission.
Mr. Tom Esper, a past president of our Homeowners' Association, as well as myself,
spoke on behalf of our members and expressed the following concerns:
1. The significant devaluation of our property--by as much as 10%.
2. The noise and odor pollution which would have an effect on the
health and safety of our residents.
3. The increase in traffic problems.
4. The overcommercialization of our community.
We are now .aware the Biskind Development Company is in the process of bypassing the
channels of our city government and that of the Regional Office of the Ohio
Department of Transportation (ODOT) by directly contacting the state office of ODOT
in Columbus, Ohio in an attempt to have the restriction lifted from Brookpark Road.
If Biskind is successful in Columbus, it will then request Council to overrule the
Planning Commision's decision.
Therefore, as the representative of 150 homeowners within Park West Estates, I wish
to go on record that we are strongly opposed to any rezoning proposal from residential
to general business retail of the land abutting our development. Photocopies of our
petitions have been enclosed.
Very truly yours ,
Angelo Skoulis, President
Park West Homeowners' Association
AS/md
Enclosure
