<br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />DECEMBER 6, 1988 <br />Present: Presiding Officer Thomas O'Grady, Councilwoman Bahas, <br />Councilmen Boehmer, McKay, O'Grady, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell. <br />Absent: President Saringer, President Pro Tem Tallon, Councilman <br />Bohlmann. (President Pro Tem Tallon present at 8:35 P.M.) <br />Meeting was called to order by Presiding Officer O'Grady at 8:00 P.M., in <br />Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting <br />the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />Minutes of the Council Meeting of November 1, 1988, were approved. <br />Minutes of the Council Meeting of November 15, 1988, were approved. <br />Presiding Officer O'Grady announced: 1) President Saringer is recuperating from <br />recent surgery and will be discharged from the hospital tomorrow. In her absence, <br />and until the arrival of President Pro Tem Tallon, Councilman O'Grady will act as <br />Presiding Officer. <br />2) A Public Hearing has been scheduled for Tuesday, January 3rd, 1989, at 7 P.M., <br />just prior to the next regular council meeting. Public Hearing will be held with <br />respect to Ordinance No. 88-122, the rezoning of Sublot No. lA, 2A and 3A in the <br />DiBenedetto Subdivision. <br />3) Suspension of the rule .requiring three readings will be requested for Ordinance <br />Nos. 88-128, 88-131, 88-132, 88-135 and 88-136. <br />4) The following legislation has been added to this evening's agenda: Ordinance <br />Nos. 88-136, 88-137, 88-138, 88-139, 88-140 and 88-141. <br />Mayor Petrigac reported: 1) Copy of the temporary appropriations has been dis- <br />tributed to council; would appreciate an early meeting on this subject. <br />2) Regretfully announces the resignation of Chet Remmel from the Zoning Board of <br />Appeals. He will be missed and will be very difficult to replace. <br />3) West Shore Mayors met with Commissioner Mary Boyle regarding the reorganization <br />of the Regional Planning to a County Planning Commission. There will be eight <br />regions with a Mayor or City Manager representing each region. They will only <br />make recommendations; the County Commissioners have the actual vote and will be <br />the appointing authority. <br />4) House Bill 527 has passed and will become final 90 days after the governor <br />has signed it. This bill changes the limit for competitive bidding to $10,000. <br />5) Meeting was held on Thursday between County Commissioners and the cities of <br />Westlake and North Olmsted regarding Clague Road. Municipalities requested that <br />the narrowest possible right-of-way be taken; it must be the same throughout both <br />cities. While 80 feet is the standard, the county will try for 70 feet. Project <br />will have four lanes as specified in the Transportation Study adopted by Council. <br />The next phase is the drainage study; upon completion of this study, a public <br />hearing will be scheduled. Three alternate ways of handling the curb from 1480 <br />to Lorain will be discussed; if there is anything that both communities do not <br />agree on, the whole project will be scrapped. <br />
