Council .Minutes of 10/4/88 _3_ <br />Mr. Tallon, Chairman Building, Zoning and Development Committee reported: 1) BZD <br />Committee met on September 29, 1988, at 7:30 P.M. All committee members were in <br />attendance as well as Law Director Gareau, Building Commissioner Conway, Acting <br />Engineer Boyer, Councilman Wilamosky and Councilman McKay. Because of the large <br />crowd, the first order of business was discussion of Ordinance No. 88-103, the <br />Developers Diversified property, which Law Director Gareau has just covered in <br />his report to council. Committee discussed and agreed to include the changes <br />in Items 7, 8, 9 and 10 of the judgment entry as just described by Law Director <br />and recommends passage of Ordinance No. 88-103. <br />2) BZD Committee then took up its regular agenda and discussed the following <br />Building Department requests, all of which have been approved by the Architectural <br />Review Board and the Planning Commission: <br />a. OfficeMax, 26035 Lorain Road, proposal to convert supermarket to office <br />supply outlet; representatives Mike Crisplip, architect and Carl Wagner from <br />Wagner Signs. Committee recommends approval as per ARB and Planning Commission <br />recommendations and contingent upon the granting of the variances before the BZA. <br />Mr. Tallon moved to approve the proposal of OffieeMax, as above stated, second <br />by Mr. O'Grady, unanimously approved. <br />b. Rad Air Service Center, 24260 .Lorain Road, addition of landscape buffer; <br />representative Mr. Kresge, the owner. Committee recommends approval as per ARB <br />and Planning Commission recommendations since this will enhance the Lorain Road <br />site. Mr. Tallon moved to approve the .landscape buffer of Rad Air Service Center <br />as above. stated, second by Mr. O'Grady, unanimously approved. <br />c. Pheasants Run Retail Shopping and Office Complex, site revision; repre- <br />sentative Bill Davison, architect. Approved by BZA on September 21, 1988. BZD <br />Committee recommends approval as per Planning Commission recommendations and <br />with the following stipulations: the landbanked portion of the proposal will be <br />held in abeyance until a resolution of the rear. access problem has been approved <br />by the Engineering Department; the .easterly drive to be changed from a one-way <br />to a two-way drive and the elimination of the cross-over drive from the easterly <br />to the westerly drives; the westerly drive aisle. and apron to be increased to <br />thirty-three feet. Mr. Tallon moved to approve .the site revision for Pheasants <br />Run Retail Shopping and Office Complex as above stated, second by Mrs. Bahas, <br />unanimously approved. <br />d. Third Federal Savings and Loan Association, 26949 Lorain Road, proposal <br />to construct addition to front of existing building; representative Bill Davison, <br />architect. Committee has no objection and recommends approval as per ARB and <br />Planning Commission. Mr. Tallon. moved to approve the Third Federal Savings and <br />Loan Association proposal as above stated, second by Mr. O'Grady, unanimously <br />approved. <br />e. Owen McCafferty, C.P.A.., Incorporated, vacant property west of 30940 <br />Lorain Road, proposal to construct office building; representative Bill Davison, <br />architect. Committee has no objection and recommends approval as per ARB and <br />Planning Commission. Mr. Tallon moved to approve the Owen McCafferty, C.P.A., <br />Incorporated proposal as above stated, second by Mr. O'Grady, unanimously approved. <br />3) Under subdivisions and new developments, the Engineering Department presented <br />the David S. DiBenedetto Assembly Plat proposal to combine and assemble into one <br />lot, P.P. Nos. 232-25-5 and 232-25-6, sublots 2A and 3A of the DiBenedetto Re- <br />subdivision, as recorded in Volume 238, Page 64 of CCMR, located on the north side <br />of Brookpark Road Extension. BZD Committee has no objection and legislation will <br />be drawn up and placed on the agenda for the next council meeting. <br />~~f <br />
