Minutes of 1/19/88 <br />-6- <br />LEGISLATION (cont'd): <br />~w,r Ordinance No. 88-11 introduced by Mr. Wilamosky was given its first reading. <br />An ordinance to transfer appropriations for current expenses and other ex- <br />penditures for the City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 1987. <br />Referred to Finance Committee. <br />Resolution No. 88-12 introduced by Mayor Petrigac was given its first reading. <br />A resolution supporting Lorain Mayor Olejko in his effort to place the issue <br />of American hostages being held in the middle east on .the agenda of the <br />United States Conference of Mayors, and declaring an emergency. Mr. Bohlmann <br />moved for suspension of rule requiring three readings as well as referral to <br />committee, second by Mr. Wilamosky, unanimously approved. There was no <br />audience participation. Mr. Bohlmann moved for adoption, second by Mr. Wilamosky, <br />unanimously approved. Resolution No. 88-12 adopted. <br />Miscellaneous business: <br />Mr. Wilamosky asked Mayor Petrigac what the total cost of the Traff-Pro Consultant, <br />Ordinance No. 88-10, would be; Mayor responded it would be approximately $7,700. <br />Mr. McKay scheduled an Environmental Committee Meeting for Wednesday, January 27th, <br />at 7:30 P.M., and requested the presence of Mayor Petrigac and Safety Director <br />Becker; this meeting is just prior to the Cable TV Advisory Commission Meeting. <br />Mr. McKay reported there had been some <br />and that hydrant repairs cost approxim <br />needed repairs and the city budget for <br />Committee to look into the possibility <br />insurance companies placed into a fund <br />Mr. Wilamosky responded that the money <br />fund and is transferred from said fund <br />problems with fire hydrants in Ward 4 <br />3tely $1,400. Would ask the Finance <br />of having money that is recouped from <br />for hydrant repair or a casualty fund. <br />is already placed in a "Casualty Loss" <br />to make repairs on hydrants. <br />Mr. O'Grady asked Mayor Petrigac if anything concrete has happened with regard <br />to Issue 2 monies. Mayor responded that it has not. One of the big problems is <br />coming up with matching funds; there has been .much discussion and three or four <br />different versions are now being looked at; nothing has been decided as yet. <br />Mrs. Bahas scheduled a Long Range Planning Committee Meeting for Council as a <br />Whole to discuss Community Development Block Grant funds; meeting will be held <br />February 1st at 8 P.M. Would urge everyone to attend the Public Hearing being <br />held tomorrow night with respect to Block Grant Funding. <br />Mr. Bohlmann scheduled a Legislative Committee Meeting for Wednesday, February 3rd, <br />at 8 P.M., to discuss Ordinance No. 88-5 and to interview Mr. Restifo for the <br />position on the Architectural Review Board; would ask the administration to forward <br />Mr. Rest ifo's resume to committee members. <br />Mr. Wilamosky asked if Mayor Petrigac had an updated or revised estimate with <br />respect to anticipated revenues the city will receive in 1988 due to the piggy- <br />back license plate tax. Mayor responded she did not. <br />Mr. Wilamosky asked Law Director Gareau if the City of North Olmsted is currently <br />obligated, under state statute, to comply with the terms and language as detailed <br />and outlined in the Ohio Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices. Mr. Gareau <br />responded that in his opinion it was. Mr. Wilamosky said the reason for his <br />question was that he also believed the city had been functioning under the Ohio <br />Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices for many years and Ordinance No. 88-1 <br />was redundant; the city is already doing what the ordinance proposes that it do. <br /> <br />
