MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL
<br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED
<br />JANUARY 5, 1988
<br />Present: President Janet Saringer, Councilwoman Bahas, Councilmen Boehmer,
<br />Bohlmann, McKay, O'Grady, Tallon, Wilamosky.
<br />Also present: Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance
<br />Director Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell.
<br />Meeting was called to order by President Saringer at 8:00 P.M., in Council
<br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio.
<br />Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting
<br />the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
<br />Minutes of the Council Meeting of December 15, 1987, were approved.
<br />Mr. Bohlmann moved to amend the agenda to allow an Organizational Meeting to
<br />be held at this time, instead of under Miscellaneous Business, second by
<br />Mr. O'Grady, unanimously approved.
<br />Mr. Bohlmann moved to adopt the Rules of Council as presented to all Members
<br />of Council, second by Mr. McKay. Mr. Wilamosky called for a division of the
<br />question; would like Rule 21 voted on separately; does not feel the recent
<br />change in this rule has any real significant or meaningful improvement over
<br />the prior Rule 21. Honoring Mr. Wilamosky's request, Mr. Bohlmann withdrew
<br />his motion; Mr. McKay withdrew his second. Mr. Bohlmann moved to adopt the
<br />Rules of Council as presented to all Members of Council with the exception of
<br />Rule 21, second by Mr. McKay, unanimously approved. Mr. Bohlmann moved to
<br />adopt Rule 21 of the Rules of Council as presently written, second by Mr. McKay.
<br />Roll call on motion: Affirmative vote: Bahas, Boehmer, Bohlmann, McKay, O'Grady,
<br />Tallon. Negative vote: Wilamosky. 6 Aye - 1 Nay - Motion carried. Rule 21
<br />adopted as presently written.
<br />President Saringer announced the Standing Committees of Council would be as
<br />follows, with the Chairman of the committee .being named first and the two
<br />other members following:
<br />Building, Zoning and Development - Mr. Tallon, Mr. Bohlmann, Mr. O'Grady.
<br />Environmental Control - Mr. McKay, Mr. Tallon, Mr. Wilamosky.
<br />Finance - Mr. Wilamosky, Mr. Bohlmann, Mr. Tallon.
<br />Intra-Governmental Relations and Legislation - Mr. Bohlmann, Mrs. Bahas, Mr. Wilamosky
<br />Long Range Planning - Mrs. Bahas, Mr. McKay, Mr. O'Grady.
<br />Public Safety, Health and Welfare - Mr. Boehmer, Mrs. Bahas, Mr. McKay.
<br />Recreation, Public Parks and Buildings - Mr. Bohlmann, Mrs. Bahas, Mr. Boehmer.
<br />Streets and Drainage - Mr. McKay, Mr. Boehmer, Mr. Wilamosky.
<br />Transportation - Mr. O'Grady, Mr. Boehmer, Mr. Tallon.
<br />Mr. Wilamosky moved to approve the aforementioned co~nittee assignments, second
<br />by Mrs. Bahas, unanimously approved.
