Council Minutes of 1/5/88 -2- <br />President Saringer announced that the appointments to the Cable TV Advisory <br />Commission were as follows: Mr. Boehmer, Mr. O'Grady, Lorianne Davis. Mr. <br />Wilamosky moved to approve the aforementioned appointments, second by Mr. McKay, <br />unanimously approved. <br />President Saringer announced that the members to serve on the Ethics Commission <br />would be Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Boyle, President Saringer, <br />Councilmen Bohlmann and Wilamosky. Mr. McKay moved to approve the aforementioned <br />appointments, second by Mr. Boehmer, unanimously approved. <br />President Saringer announced that she has appointed the following people to serve <br />on the Risk Management Task Force, which does not need council approval:. <br />Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Boyle, President Saringer, Councilmen McKay, <br />Tallon and Wilamosky, Budget and Management Director Cunningham and Administrative <br />Assistant Fabek. <br />President Saringer announced that the Memorial Committee has been. disbanded; any <br />further business would be referred to the Parks and Recreation Commission. <br />Mr. Bohlmann moved to appoint Mrs. Bahas to serve on the Landmarks Commission, <br />second by Mr. Wilamosky, unanimously approved. <br />Mr. Boehmer moved to appoint Mr. Bohlmann to serve on the Recreation Commission, <br />second by Mrs. Bahas, unanimously approved. <br />Mr. Bohlmann moved Councilman Tallon be appointed to serve as President of Council <br />Pro Tem, second by Mr. Boehmer, unanimously approved. <br />The Organizational Meeting business being completed, Council resumed its regular <br />agenda. <br />Mayor Petrigac reported: 1) Board of Control met to discuss bids for the ventil- <br />ating system at Old Town Hall; all of the four bids received were higher than the <br />architect's estimate; project will be rebid. <br />2) Board of Control accepted bids for salt and sodium aluminate. The bid on salt, <br />submitted from International Salt Company at $17.10 per ton, was accepted; the <br />bid on sodium aluminate, submitted by U. S. Aluminate for $58,987.50, was <br />accepted; each of these bids was the lowest bid received. <br />3) Requested President Saringer to schedule a meeting to discuss the administration's <br />proposal of a planning process; would like to discuss some of the in-depth comments <br />received from consultants and other communities. <br />Law Director Gareau reported: 1) Late this afternoon mailed a 65 page cover brief <br />to the Sixth Circuit Court. <br />2) In the past three weeks a p,re-trial was held on the Halleen matter; should know <br />in the next three weeks whether a resolution is possible to resolve this matter. <br />3) Has met with the Judge on two separate occasions on the Newman matter, which is <br />the Civil Service Case presently pending. <br />4) Has prepared and is presently getting affidavits signed to file a contempt <br />action against Nightfall for violating the court's order regarding parking. <br />
