Council Minutes of 12/5/89 -7-
LEGISLATION (cont'd):
Ordinance No. 89-103 introduced by Mr. O'Grady and Mr. McKay was given its first
reading. An ordinance amending the Traffic Control File of the City of North
Olmsted to change the "no right turn on red" sign at Brookpark and Clague Roads
to read, "no right turn on red from 7 A.M. to 7 P.M.", and declaring an emer-
gency. Referred to Safety Committee.
Miscellaneous business:
Mr. Wilamosky scheduled a Finance Committee Meeting for Monday, December 11th,
at 7:30 P,M., to discuss Ordinance No. 89-99 as well as any other year-end
transfer and an ordinance to adopt the financial institutions the city will be
using in the future. Would like the Finance Director and as well as the Finance
Director-Elect to be in attendance.
Mr. Bohlmann scheduled a Recreation Committee Meeting for Monday, December 18th,
at 8 P,M., and requested the attendance of Councilmen Tallon and Wilamosky,
Finance Director Boyle, Finance Director-Elect Burns, Recreation Complex Manager
Fattlar, Timothy O'Rourke, Richard Scott and Charlotte Phillips.
Mr. Boehmer scheduled a Safety Committee Meeting for Monday, December 18th, at
7:30 P,M. to discuss Ordinance No. 89-103 as well as the recent. increase in
residential break-ins. Requested the attendance of Chief Marsh.
Mr. Wilamosky asked if the recently proposed purchase of off ice furniture,
two desks and a chair, had been resolved. Mr. Boyle responded that the purchase
order has been cut and is in his office. The check has not been processed and
cannot be processed because there is insufficient monies in the account. Feels
it should be for "office furniture" rather than for "supplies". Finance Committee
will continue to discuss and resolve the matter. Mayor Petrigac asked to be in-
cluded in this further discussion and resolution.
With respect to future discussions on the Rules of Council, Mr. Wilamosky asked
that Rule 21 be reinstated in its original form; feels the change has made it
very cumbersome and detracts from the orderly procedure of council business.
Mr. Bohlmann discussed the off-ramp of 1480, going west, which would be south-
bound on Columbia Road. There is presently a "yield" sign at this location
but feels there have been too many "close calls" in this area and a "stop" sign
would improve traffic safety. Would request the Safety Committee to discuss
this possibility and urge the State of Ohio to respond to this suggestion if it
is at all feasible.
The agenda being completed and there being no further business, President Saringer
adjourned the Council Meeting at 9:00 P.M.
lorence E. Campbell, erk of Council
~.
J et A. Saringer, Pres ent of Council
~~~®., ~,xh~ ,~.~ ~.. rn~,~
