THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />NOVEMBER 8, 1989 <br />Present: President Janet Saringer, Councilwoman Bahas, Councilmen <br />Boehmer, McKay, O`Grady, Tallon, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell. <br />Absent: Councilman Bohlmann. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Saringer at 8:00 P.M., in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted. <br />Minutes of the Council Meeting of October 17, 1989, were approved. <br />President Saringer commented: 1) Congratulated the victors in the General <br />Election held November 7th and stated she certainly knew how the losers felt. <br />2) Requested a moment of silence and prayer for Aubrey Williams, an auxiliary <br />policeman, who was killed while directing traffic on Clague Road yesterday. <br />3) Tonight's agenda will be amended to include two new pieces of legislation, <br />Ordinance Nos. 89-91 and 89-92. Also, suspension of rule requiring three <br />readings will be requested on Ordinance Nos. 89-87, 89-89, 89-90 and 89-91. <br />Mayor Petrigac reported: 1) Board of Control met on November 3rd and awarded <br />the contract for the 50,000 pound frame container rails for the sludge hauling <br />truck to Refuse Equipment in the amount of $15,110. Also, accepted the bid <br />for the Bradley Road culvert improvement from Fabrizi Construction in the <br />amount of $86,076. <br />2) Forwarded a copy of the letter stating the city has received Issue Two <br />money for the repair of the Lorain Road water main in the amount of $634,500. <br />3) Funeral services for Mr. Aubrey Williams will be held at Jenkin's Funeral <br />Home at 11 o'clock on Friday. <br />4) Has received a letter from. the County Engineer's office requesting input <br />on the county's Capital Improvement and Maintenance Program; copies of same <br />will be forwarded to council tomorrow. <br />Law Director Gareau. reported: 1) Since the last council meeting, has met with <br />EPA in Columbus and subsequently filed an appeal to the Environmental Board of <br />Review. Meanwhile, the administration has accumulated data and forwarded it to <br />the EPA and the Attorney General`s off ice with respect to the tap-in ban. City <br />is requesting that they either lift the ban completely or modify it. Will keep <br />council advised; if a favorable response is not received, Law Director recommends <br />that the city proceed with appeal. <br />Finance Director Boyle reported: 1) Has received a copy of the budget and esti- <br />mates of property taxes from the county. A few changes will be necessary since <br />it does not reflect the increase for recreation for next year; it still shows <br />a half mill. It also shows 3 mills for the Bond Retirement - Sewer; that will. <br />also have to change. Will make copies available for council, the Mayor and <br />Budget and Management Director. <br /> <br />
