Council Minutes of 11/8/89
Miscellaneous business (cont'd):
Mr. Tallon scheduled a BZD Committee Meeting for Thursday, November 16th, at
8 P.M., and requested the presence of Building Commissioner Conway and City
Engineer Cesen.
-4-
Mr. McKay asked the Mayor if the Service Department could offer any help to
the leaf pickup contractor, perhaps in hauling leaves to the dump site, since
they are so far behind schedule. Mayor Petrigac responded that the city has a
contract with these people and they have been working overtime on Saturdays
and Sundays; the Service Department employees have a very heavy schedule at
this time; is not sure the city has any equipment to assist in the pickup.
Mr. Wilamosky also discussed the leaf pickup, noting that they were five or
six days behind schedule, Mayor responded that in some areas this is true.
Mr. Wilamosky asked if the contractor intended to put on any additional equip-
ment or just planned to make up time by working weekends. Service Director
Noble responded that the contract called for three pickups and they will not
be paid a cent until this is done; this first pickup proved to be the heaviest;
the next two should be lighter and they can catch up; other than being behind
on the schedule, the contractor is complying with the contract; there is no
projected completion date.
President Saringer scheduled a Council-of-the-Whole Committee Meeting for
Monday, November 27th, at 7:30 P.M., to discuss the administrative personnel
changes as outlined by Finance Director Boyle in his report earlier this
evening .
Mr. O'Grady moved to excuse the absence of Councilman Bohlmann, second by
Mr. Boehmer, unanimously approved.
The agenda being completed and there being no further business, President Saringer
adjourned the council meeting at 8:40 P.M.
i`
~~
Florence E.
