Council Minutes of 10/3/89
-6-
Mr. McKay scheduled an Environmental Control Committee Meeting for Tuesday,
October 10th, at 7:30 P.M., to discuss Ordinance No. 89-83.
Mayor Petrigac announced that she plans to form a committee, probably including
the Long Range Planning Committee Chairman and other council .members, to study
the annexation of Olmsted Township. With respect to Mr. Wilamosky's question
regarding the proper procedure for annexation, Law Director Gareau directed
the Clerk of Council to send him a written request for a Letter of Opinion with
regard to this issue.
Mr. Bohlmann asked when the next Recreation Commission Meeting would be held;
Mayor responded on October 16th.
Mr. McKay noted that the City of Fairview Park's Law Director has sent amendments
to the Board of Elections that were not approved by their council. Is this possible
in North Olmsted too? Law Director Gareau stated that he did not think it was
possible in Fairview Park or North Olmsted. The constitution of the State of Ohio
provides two methods to amend the charter: one is by petition and the other is by
two-thirds vote of council. There is no other way it can be done.
Mr. Tallon asked if a date had been set for the observance of Halloween; Mayor re-
sponded that it would be on October 31st, from 6 to 8 P.M.
The agenda being completed and there being no further business, President Saringer
adjourned the council meeting at 9:05 P.M.
J C J
~, CCC«< d c
Florence E.
