<br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />AUGUST 15, 1989 <br />Present: President Janet Beringer, Councilwoman Bahas, Councilmen, Boehmer, <br />Bohlmann, McKay, O'Grady, Tallon, Wiiamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Law Director Michael Gateau, Finance <br />Director Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Saringer at 8:00 P.M., in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted. <br />President Saringer invited members of the audience to join Members of Council in <br />the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />Minutes of the regular Council Meeting of July 5, 1989, were approved. <br />Minutes of the special Council Meeting of July 6, 1989, were approved. <br />Minutes of the special Council Meeting of July 7, 1989, were approved. <br />Minutes of-the special Council Meeting of July 18, 1989, were approved. <br />President Saringer announced that Ordinance No. 89-73 and .Ordinance No. 89-74 <br />have been added to tonight's agenda; also, suspension of the rule requiring <br />three readings will be requested for Ordinance Nos. 89-68, 89-72, 89-73 and <br />89-74. <br />Mr. Bohlmann moved to amend the agenda for the purpose of including Ordin- <br />ance No. 89-75 and. Resolution No. 89-76, both of which deal with an income <br />tax increase from 17, to 2~ with a 757 credit, second by Mrs. Bahas. Roll <br />call on motion: Affirmative vote: Bohlmann, Bahas, Wilamosky. Negative <br />vote: Boehmer, McKay, O'Grady, Tallon. 3 Aye - 4 Nay - Motion failed. <br />Landmarks Commission Member, Joseph Lang, presented a plaque identifying the <br />historical home of Mr. and Mrs. Ned Wilkins located on Clague Road. <br />Mayor Petrigac reported: 1) Thanked the Landmarks Commission for all the work <br />they do on behalf of the city. Also, thanked Mrs. Wilkins for the work she did <br />in documenting this historic home. <br />2) Resurfacing of Ranchview and West Ranchview began the week of August 7th; <br />city is upgrading the system by cleaning and making long over-due basin repairs. <br />3) Renovation of the Recreation Complex should begin this week. <br />4) Of the twenty-nine letters sent to engineering firms, .requesting a proposal <br />for impact fees, eleven communications were recived with only two of them giving <br />a proposal. Many of the responses had comments and suggestions. <br />5) Within the next few weeks, city will begin cleaning the ditches in the Deer- <br />f field area and the hydro-brake project will get underway. <br />6) Board of Control met on July 24th and accepted bid of J. J. Turner for vacuum/ <br />catch basin cleaner in the amount of $92,400, bid of Findley Fire Equipment for <br />breathing apparatus in the amount of $16,605 and bid of Alert Fire and Safety <br />Equipment for protective clothing in the amount of $17,898. <br />7) Ordinance No. 89-73, covering the contract for about 50 service personnel is <br />being introduced this evening; contract has been ratified by the union. Would <br />like to thank Mr. Noble, Mr. Gateau and Mr. Cunningham for their hard work during <br />these negotiations. <br />
