Council Minutes of 3/7/89 _5_ <br />LEGISLATION (cont'd): <br />Resolution No. 89-10 introduced by Mayor Petrigac Baas given its third reading. <br />,, A resolution authorizingthe Director of Public Service to advertise for bids with <br />an outside contractor for the purpose of providing, on a contract basis, leaf pick- <br />up service throughout the City of North Olmsted, and declaring an emergency. Mr. <br />Wilamosky moved for adoption, second by Mr. Bohlmann, unanimously approved. Reso- <br />lution No. 89-10 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 89-12 introduced by Mayor Petrigac was given its second reading. An <br />ordinance to make appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures for the <br />City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 1989. <br />Ordinance No. 89-13 introduced by Mayor Petrigac was given its second reading. <br />An ordinance setting the compensation to be paid each member of the Architectural <br />Review Board, and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance No. 89-14 introduced by Mrs. Babas was given its second reading. An <br />ordinance for the improvement of a portion of public highway which is described <br />as follows: (1) the construction of Crocker-Stearns (CR-118) Extension, with <br />turning lanes where needed, from Lorain Road to the North Olmsted North Corporation <br />Line, and (2) the grade, drain, pave and widen to four lanes of Stearns Road <br />(CR-76) from 1480 to Lorain Road, and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance No. 89-15 introduced by Mr. Bohlmann was given its second reading. An <br />ordinance adopting a new and revised Chapter 945 of the Cod if ied Ordinances, en- <br />titled "Community Cabin/Senior Center", and repealing Ordinance No. 88-77, and <br />declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance No. 89-17 introduced by Mayor Petrigac was given its first reading. An <br />ordinance to make appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures for <br />the City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 1989. Mr. Wilamosky <br />moved for suspension of rule requiring three readings as well as ref erral to <br />committee, second by Mrs. Babas, unanimously approved. Mr. Wilamosky moved for <br />adoption, second by Mr. O'Grady, unanimously approved. Ordinance No. 89-17 adopted. <br />Resolution No. 89-18 introduced by Mayor Petrigac was given its first reading. A <br />resolution opposing action of the Ohio General Assembly to require centralized <br />motor vehicle exhaust inspections. Ref erred to Legislation Committee. <br />Resolution No. 89-19 introduced by Mr. O'Grady was given its first reading. A <br />resolution urging the United States House of Representatives to adopt H.R. 467, <br />"Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act", which prohibits the sale of hand guns <br />for a seven day period and allows for a permissive background check on the <br />prospective purchaser. Mr. O'Grady moved for suspension of rule requiring three <br />readings as well as referral to committee, second by Mrs. Babas, unanimously <br />~' approved. Mr. O'Grady moved for adoption, second by Mrs. Babas, unanimously <br />approved. Resolution No. 89-19 adopted. <br />Miscellaneous business: <br />President Saringer announced that the meeting between .the Cities of Westlake and <br />North Olmsted, with respect to Columbia Road, will be held on Wednesday, April <br />26th, at 8 P.M. <br />With respect to Finance Director Boyle's report regarding the Fairview Park sewer <br />contract, relative to the money Fairview owes North Olmsted for capital improve- <br />ments, Mr. Wilamosky asked Mayor Petrigac what progress is the administration <br />making in negotiating with Fairview Park for a new on-going contract for the <br />system - where are we, in what direction are we going and are we on our way to <br />finalizing the proposal with them for the existing and future use of the system. <br />~,.~ , <br />. ~...., <br />
