.~ <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />FEBRUARY 6, 1989 <br />Present: President Janet Saringer, Councilwoman Bahas, Councilmen <br />Boehmer, Bohlmann, McKay, O'Grady, Tallon, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Saringer at 8:00 P.M., in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting <br />the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />Minutes of regular Council Meeting of January 17, 1989, were approved. <br />Minutes of special Council Meeting of January 19, 1989, were approved. <br />President Saringer announced: 1) Ordinance No. 89-11, an ordinance directing <br />Don Copeland to make application on behalf of the city for Community Develop- <br />ment Block Grant Funds for Fiscal Year 1989, has been added to tonight's agenda. <br />2) Council will suspend the rule requiring three readings on Ordinance Nos. <br />88-141, 89-8 and 89-11. <br />3) Introduced a representative from the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center, Ms. <br />Jennifer Wise, who presented a plaque to Captain Krynak and Detective Dungan, <br />honoring the Police Department and the citizens who participated in the recent <br />apprehension of a rape suspect in the City of North Olmsted. <br />Mayor Petrigac reported:. 1) Betsy Jack, Administrator at the Senior Center, <br />has written and submitted a grant to the Western Reserve Agency on Aging for <br />$2,800 far four van radios. <br />2) Received a bill from Rocky River Court in the amount of $21,620.12 for 1988. <br />3) Police Department negotiations have been completed; congratulated all members <br />of the negotiating teams for working out a very good, fair contract. <br />4) City has received a check from the County Auditor, in the amount of <br />$28,041.84, for the city's share of the Auditor's Real Estate Assessment Fund. <br />5) Governor Celeste has turned down all three candidates submitted by the Ohio <br />Public Works Commission; this is for the Issue Two money; three more names <br />have been submitted. <br />6) All city employees had an hour-long training in how to deal with different <br />hazardous materials - part of the. safety program with Gallagher, Bassett Services. <br />7) Thursday evening, the Cable Advisory Committee met with Mr. Leach from MetroTEN <br />Cablevision; Councilman O'Grady will be reporting out on this meeting. <br />8) CIC met for its yearly organizational meeting; officers for 1989 are <br />President - Mayor Petrigac, Vice President - Don Newport, Secretary/Treasurer - <br />Mary Slama. <br />9) Will be introducing legislation authorizing the Mayor to contract for bids <br />for an Ecology Curbside Leaf Program, which will meet the requirements of House <br />Bill 592. Will be forming a Community Waste Management Committee; would welcome <br />hearing from anyone who would like to serve on this committee.. <br />10) A written report on the meeting with Westlake representatives, ODOT, and <br />North Olmsted, has been forwarded to council with respect to relocated 252. <br />
