.~ MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED FEBRUARY 6, 1989 Present: President Janet Saringer, Councilwoman Bahas, Councilmen Boehmer, Bohlmann, McKay, O'Grady, Tallon, Wilamosky. Also present: Mayor Yvonne Petrigac, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance Director Edward Boyle, Clerk of Council Florence Campbell. Meeting was called to order by President Saringer at 8:00 P.M., in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted. Members of the audience were invited to join Members of Council in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Minutes of regular Council Meeting of January 17, 1989, were approved. Minutes of special Council Meeting of January 19, 1989, were approved. President Saringer announced: 1) Ordinance No. 89-11, an ordinance directing Don Copeland to make application on behalf of the city for Community Develop- ment Block Grant Funds for Fiscal Year 1989, has been added to tonight's agenda. 2) Council will suspend the rule requiring three readings on Ordinance Nos. 88-141, 89-8 and 89-11. 3) Introduced a representative from the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center, Ms. Jennifer Wise, who presented a plaque to Captain Krynak and Detective Dungan, honoring the Police Department and the citizens who participated in the recent apprehension of a rape suspect in the City of North Olmsted. Mayor Petrigac reported:. 1) Betsy Jack, Administrator at the Senior Center, has written and submitted a grant to the Western Reserve Agency on Aging for $2,800 far four van radios. 2) Received a bill from Rocky River Court in the amount of $21,620.12 for 1988. 3) Police Department negotiations have been completed; congratulated all members of the negotiating teams for working out a very good, fair contract. 4) City has received a check from the County Auditor, in the amount of $28,041.84, for the city's share of the Auditor's Real Estate Assessment Fund. 5) Governor Celeste has turned down all three candidates submitted by the Ohio Public Works Commission; this is for the Issue Two money; three more names have been submitted. 6) All city employees had an hour-long training in how to deal with different hazardous materials - part of the. safety program with Gallagher, Bassett Services. 7) Thursday evening, the Cable Advisory Committee met with Mr. Leach from MetroTEN Cablevision; Councilman O'Grady will be reporting out on this meeting. 8) CIC met for its yearly organizational meeting; officers for 1989 are President - Mayor Petrigac, Vice President - Don Newport, Secretary/Treasurer - Mary Slama. 9) Will be introducing legislation authorizing the Mayor to contract for bids for an Ecology Curbside Leaf Program, which will meet the requirements of House Bill 592. Will be forming a Community Waste Management Committee; would welcome hearing from anyone who would like to serve on this committee.. 10) A written report on the meeting with Westlake representatives, ODOT, and North Olmsted, has been forwarded to council with respect to relocated 252.
