Council Minutes of 1/17/89 -6- <br />Miscellaneous business: <br />Mr. O'Grady commented that the first regular council meeting in February <br />falls on the day of the special election and therefore moved that the. rules. <br />of council be amended to permit the first regular council meeting in February <br />to be held on Monday, February 6, 1989, second by Mr. McKay, unanimously approved. <br />Mr. Boehmer moved council approve the nomination of Mr. McKay to serve as Presi- <br />dent Pro Tem for the year 19$9, second by Mr. Wilamosky, unanimously approved. <br />Mr. Wilamosky asked the administration and the Law Director what the status is <br />with respect to the Nightfall Nightclub; there is a court order directing the <br />establishment to maintain a fence, last week he noted that the fence was down; <br />are the complaints about this situation merely being logged or is the admin- <br />istration responding to them. Law Director stated that when the fence is down <br />and people are utilizing the area, inconsistent with the court order, someone <br />should verify this to the Law Department and he, in turn,. will go back in court. <br />Mayor Petrigac said the administration is documenting complaints and are en- <br />forcing; will look into the matter the first thing tomorrow morning. Service <br />Director Noble advised that both the Safety and Service Departments were notified <br />of violations and health hazards in the area over the weekend. Building Inspector <br />Sanker has issued documentation for a cleanup within the property itself; the <br />Service Department has cleaned up broken glass and rubbish on the streets and side- <br />walks within the city's responsibility; the complaint was issued Monday morning <br />and cleanup completed this morning. <br />Mr. Tallon scheduled a BZD Committee for Wednesday, January 25th, at 7:30 P.M. <br />Mayor Petrigac reminded everyone that the salaries for elected officials must <br />be established thirty days before the filing deadline of March 3rd, therefore, <br />council must act on the salary ordinances prior to February 1st. <br />The agenda being completed and there being no further business, President Saringer <br />adjourned the council meeting at 9:25 P.M. <br />%l/" <br />F orence E.
