• <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />DECENIDER 18, 1990 <br />Present: President Boehmer, Council Members Bahas, Leonard, <br />McKay, Nashar, O'Grady, Beringer, Tallon. <br />Also Present: Mayor Edward Boyle, Finance Director James Burns, <br />Acting Clerk Barbara Semen. <br />President Boehmer called the Council meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in <br />Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center .Road, North Olmsted, OH. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the <br />Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />The following minutes were approved as written: <br />Special Council of October 29, 1990. <br />Regular Council of November 7, 1990. <br />Special Council of November 15, 1990. <br />Special Council of November 19, 1990. <br />President Boehmer announced that Ordinances 90-173, 90-174, 90-175, and <br />90-176 would be added to the agenda tonight. Also, Ordinances 90-167, <br />90-168, 90-169, 90-170, 90-172, 90-175, and 90-176 will be passed under <br />suspension of the rules. <br />Mayor Boyle presented a Proclamation to Richelle Solt ending her <br />achievement of the Silver Award in Cadette Girl Scouting. Richelle was <br />recognized by the Administration, Council, and the audience. <br />Mayor Boyle presented Certificates of Recognition to the Cub Scouts of <br />Pack 52 to thank them for decorating Council Chambers. The Cub Scouts <br />were recognized by the Administration, Council, and the audience. <br />Mayor Boyle presented a Proclamation to students Betsy Beredo and <br />Bridget DeCrane who were representing North Olmsted High School. The <br />Proclamation commended the High School's participation in the "Adopt a <br />Family" program. The students were recognized by the Administration, <br />Council and the audience. <br />Mayor Boyle reported: 1) A contract has been awarded to Browning-Ferris <br />Industries of Ohio, Inc. for the collection arxi disposal of North <br />Olmsted residential solid waste at a cost of $3,222,308.40 for a three- <br />year period. We will pay in equal installments totaling $1,074,102.80 <br />per year; this is an increase of $325,000 over the last three-year <br />contract. Recycling is provided for in the contract, and this will be <br />discussed in Committee. <br />2) Thanked the Members of Council, the elected Directors, the 400 <br />employees working in and out of City Hall, and the 35,000 residents for <br />making this a rewarding year. The help and consideration from everyone <br />has been appreciated. All were wished a very Merry Christmas and a <br />Happy New Year. <br />1 <br />
