Council Minutes of 10/16/90 <br />LEGISLATION (CONTINUED) <br />Or 'Hance No. - introduced by Mr. O'Grady was given its third <br />reading. An ordinance establishing that portion of Columbia Road, <br />between Lorain Road and Brookpark Road, as a truck route permissible <br />under Section 339.02 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of North <br />Olmsted, and declaring an emergency. Mr. O'Grady moved for adoption; <br />second by Mr. McKay. <br />Roll Callon Ordinance 90-127: Mr. O'Grady explained that 90-127 had <br />come to the Safety Committee as a request quite the opposite of what it <br />now was. The request originally was to prohibit truck traffic; however, <br />the Chief of Police and City Prosecutor recommended that truck traffic <br />be allowed on that portion of Columbia Road. After much discussion, the <br />Committee unanimously approved the adoption of Ordinance 90-127 as <br />currently written. Mr. O'Grady voted yes on the ordinance. <br />Continue roll call: Mr. McKay voted no. He explained that he had taken <br />the time to observe the traffic on this particular section of Columbia <br />Road arri felt that truck traffic would not be appropriate. Mr. McKay <br />explained that truck traffic could possibly pose a danger to the <br />children riding the school buses to Birch School, the central <br />kindergarten location for the entire City. <br />Continue roll call: Mrs. Babas, no; Mr. Leonard, no; Mr. Tallon, no; <br />Mr. Nashar, yes. Affirmative votes - 2; negative votes - 4; Ordinance <br />No. 90-127 defeated. <br />Ordinance No. 90-128 introduced by Mr. O'Grady was given its third <br />reading. An ordinance establishing the organization of the Police <br />Division of the Department of Public Safety, and declaring an emergency. <br />Mr. O'Grady moved for adoption; secorxi by Mr. McKay; passed unanimously. <br />Ordinance No, 90-128 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 90-107 introduced by Mrs. Saringer was given its second <br />reading. An ordinance providing for the amendment of the Zone Map of <br />the City of North Olmsted, which Zone Map is part of the Zoning Code of <br />the City of North Olmsted, by changing the premises hereinafter <br />described from Single Residence A District to Mixed Use District A. <br />Resolution No. 90-132 introduced by Mr. Tallon was given its second <br />reading. A resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to <br />advertise for bids for 2,000 tons of stone for various Service <br />Department needs, and authorizing the Mayor to contract for saw, and <br />declaring an emergency. <br />Resolution No.90-133 introduced by Mr. Tallon was given its second <br />reading. A resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to <br />advertise for bids for up to 5,000 tons of asphalt and tack coating of <br />city streets, and authorizing the Mayor to contract for same, and <br />~, declaring an emergency. <br />6 <br /> <br />
