MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTID <br />SEPTEMBER 4, 1990 <br />Present: Council President Boehmer, Council Members Bahas, <br />Leonard, Nashar, O'Grady, Saringer, Tallon. <br />Also Present: Mayor Edward Boyle, Law Director Michael Gareau, <br />Finance Director and Acting Clerk of Council <br />James Burns. <br />Absent: Councilman McKay. <br />President Boehmer called the meeting to order at 8:14 p.m. in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the <br />Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />President Boehmer announced the following changes in the agenda: <br />Ordinances 90-109 to 90-120 will be added to the agenda aixl passed under <br />suspension of the rules; Ordinances 90-108, 90-96, 90-98 will be passed <br />under suspension of the rules. <br />Mayor Boyle reported: 1) Mrs. Eleanor Walther was presented with a <br />proclamation recognizing her hard work acid dedication as a teacher and <br />congratulating her on being named Teacher of the Year by the North <br />Olmsted Rotary Club. <br />2) Later this month, RTA Route 98 will be extended along Brookpark Road <br />to Great Northern extension as a result of suggestions submitted by <br />NOMBL employees. <br />3) RTA has given us a timetable on the new bus garage: Mid-1991, <br />identify the size and scope of the garage; late 1991, program the garage <br />into the Regional Transportation Improvement Program; 1992, design <br />garage and purchase land; 1993, earliest date for construction; 1995, <br />latest date for construction. <br />4) RTA is considering several new routes to be operated by NOMBL: <br />express routes down I-480 and I-90 servicing downtown and University <br />Circle; R~kside and I-77 service to both the North Olmsted and Westlake <br />park and rides; a route between North Olmsted and Berea; a route to <br />Independence via Snow Road. Negotiations will soon begin with Lorain <br />County Transit for routes to Midway Mall. All these suggestions were <br />made by NOMBL employees. <br />5) We are currently investigating funding sources to improve and expand <br />the nutrition program at the Senior Genter. <br />6) Dover Lift Station repairs are scheduled to be completed in the next <br />two weeks. We are working on alleviating excessive odor problems at the <br />Waste Water Treatment Plant. Fan blades, approximate cost of $12,000, <br />will soon need to be replaced. <br />7) Work on North Park will resume this week. <br />8) Will meet with the City of Cleveland this week to insure all repairs <br />have been made after the water line clean-up project on Columbia, Dover <br />Center, and Lorain Ave. <br />1 <br />
