MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTID JULY 11, 1990 Present: Council President Boehmer, Council Members Leonard, McKay, Nashar, O'Grady, Saringer, Tallon. Also Present: Law Director Michael Gareau, Acting Clerk of Council James Burns. Absent: Councilwoman Bahas. The meeting was called to order by President Boel~mer at 7:20 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Mr. Gareau spoke on Ordinance No. 90-92. The Ordinance is being given its third reading to officially put an end to it. The ordinance will be tabled tonight. By tabling the ordinance, it is dead forever and cannot be revived unless a new ordinance is proposed. The architect for the owner of the building has been notified to proceed with demolition. There is a proposal before the communities for a regional jail in Lakewood, and the administration is free to pursue that issue. LEGISLATION Resolution No. 90-92 introduced by Mr. O'Grady was given its third reading. A resolution authorizing and directing the Mayor and Director of Law to accept on behalf of the City of North Olmsted the vacant apartment building containing six (6) suites which is currently located on property owned by Paradise Pontiac, and to further negotiate and present to this council a final proposal for the moving of said apartment building to the southeasterly portion of the Recreation Center property; to present a lease agreement with either the West Shore Council of governments or the West Shore Enforcement Bureau for the operation of a rehabilitationldetention facility to be utilized by said entity for driving while under the influence of alcohol offenses; to present to the council an operating agreement with Oriana House, a non/profit organization, to operate .said facility, and. to present to this council arty additional aspects in order to facilitate the use of the aforesaid building for alcohol rehabilitation and detention, and declaring an urgency. Mr. O'Grady moved to table the ordinance; second by Mr. Leonard. Unanimously passed. Ordinance No. 90-92 tabled. Miscellaneous Business: Mr. Boehmer armounc that he and other members of council would be available after the meeting to speak to members of the audience.
