MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTID <br />JULY 11, 1990 <br />Present: Council President Boehmer, Council Members Leonard, <br />McKay, Nashar, O'Grady, Saringer, Tallon. <br />Also Present: Law Director Michael Gareau, Acting Clerk of Council <br />James Burns. <br />Absent: Councilwoman Bahas. <br />The meeting was called to order by President Boel~mer at 7:20 p.m. in <br />Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Mr. Gareau spoke on Ordinance No. 90-92. The Ordinance is being given <br />its third reading to officially put an end to it. The ordinance will be <br />tabled tonight. By tabling the ordinance, it is dead forever and cannot <br />be revived unless a new ordinance is proposed. The architect for the <br />owner of the building has been notified to proceed with demolition. <br />There is a proposal before the communities for a regional jail in <br />Lakewood, and the administration is free to pursue that issue. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Resolution No. 90-92 introduced by Mr. O'Grady was given its third <br />reading. A resolution authorizing and directing the Mayor and Director <br />of Law to accept on behalf of the City of North Olmsted the vacant <br />apartment building containing six (6) suites which is currently located <br />on property owned by Paradise Pontiac, and to further negotiate and <br />present to this council a final proposal for the moving of said <br />apartment building to the southeasterly portion of the Recreation Center <br />property; to present a lease agreement with either the West Shore <br />Council of governments or the West Shore Enforcement Bureau for the <br />operation of a rehabilitationldetention facility to be utilized by said <br />entity for driving while under the influence of alcohol offenses; to <br />present to the council an operating agreement with Oriana House, a <br />non/profit organization, to operate .said facility, and. to present to <br />this council arty additional aspects in order to facilitate the use of <br />the aforesaid building for alcohol rehabilitation and detention, and <br />declaring an urgency. Mr. O'Grady moved to table the ordinance; <br />second by Mr. Leonard. Unanimously passed. Ordinance No. 90-92 tabled. <br />Miscellaneous Business: <br />Mr. Boehmer armounc that he and other members of council would be <br />available after the meeting to speak to members of the audience. <br />Mrs. Saringer moved to excuse the absence of Mrs. Babas; second by Mr. <br />Nashar.
