MINUTES OF THE MEETII~ OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTID <br />JULY 3, 1990 <br />Present: President James Boetm~er, Council Members Bahas, <br />Leonard, McKay, Nashar, O'Grady, Saringer, Tallon. <br />Also Present: Mayor Edward Boyle, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />• Director James Burns <br />Meeting was called to order by President Boehmer at 8:12 p.m., in <br />Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join council in reciting the <br />Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />President Boehmer announced: 1) The following legislation has been added <br />to this evening's agenda: Ordinance No. 90-46, Ordinance No. 90-91, <br />Ordinance No. 90-92 and Ordinance No. 90-93. <br />2) Suspension of rule requiring three readings will be requested for <br />Ordinance Nos. 90-92, 90-93, 90-82, 90-83, 90-84, 90-85 and 90-88. <br />Mayor Boyle reported: 1) Would like to schedule two Special Council <br />Meetings; one for Monday, July 9 at 7 p.m., and one for Wednesday, July <br />11, at 7:15 p.m. immediately after the 7 p.m. Public Hearing. The <br />agenda for these meetings will include Ordinance No. 90-81, the Rec <br />Center note; Ordinance No. 90-87, the budget; and Ordinance Nos. 90-89 <br />and 90-90 which pertain to the Industrial Park. <br />2) After tonight's meeting, will be swearing in two new police officers; <br />will be sending four new officers to the Police Academy in September. <br />This will bring the .Police Department to its full numerical compliment <br />of men. It will be May or June of next year before training is <br />completed. <br />3) Have hired four dispatchers for the Fire Department which allows <br />three paramedic/firemen to assume the duties they were trained and are <br />being paid for. <br />4) Pre-construction meeting with respect to the Recreation Complex roof <br />was held yesterday; a tentative timetable was established. Work will be <br />done in a mariner so as to have the least effect on the on-going <br />activities. <br />5) Newly refurbished restrooms at North Olmsted Park should be open by <br />the beginning of August or late July. <br />6) With respect to zoning, Building Commissioner Cornaay advises that a <br />redraft by Mr. Robert Hill will be submitted to Building Department for <br />review. <br />7) Cleaning and relining of water lines on Columbia Road is completed; <br />Dover Center Road is near completion. Work will soon begin on Lorain <br />Road. Columbia and Dover Center Roads were paid for by Cleveland; <br />Lorain Road is being paid for with Issue 2 money. <br />8) Striping of the streets will begin on Saturday; work will be done <br />between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. so it won't interfere with traffic. <br />9) We are negotiating with Fairview Park on past capital expenses. A <br />'~' contract or amendment to the contract is forthcoming. <br />1 <br />
