MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE C~JNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTK OLI~STID <br />NOVEMBER 19, 1991 <br />Present: Council President Pro Tem Nashar, Council Members Leonard, McKay <br />Beringer, Tallon. <br />Also Present: Mayor Ed Boyle, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance Director <br />James Burns, Clerk of Council Barbara Semen. <br />Absent: Council President Boehmer, Council Members Babas, Lind. <br />President Pro Tem Nashar called the Council meeting to order at 8:10 p.m. in <br />Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag. <br />The minutes of the meeting of November 6, 1991 were approved as written. <br />President Pro Tem Nashar announced that Mr. Boehmer would not be present because <br />he was out of town; Mrs. Babas would not be present due to a death in the family; <br />Mr. Lind would not be present due to an injury. <br />On behalf of the Mayor and City officials, Mr. Nashar expressed sympathy to the <br />members of St. Richard`s Church on the loss of former pastor, Rev. Peter Lenahaxi. <br />Father Lenahan served as pastor and spiritual guide to the parishioners of St. <br />Richard's Church for twelve years. <br />Mayor Boyle presented a proclamation to Mr. Don Frazier, representing the North <br />Olmsted City Schools. The proclamation recognized November 17 through November <br />23 as American Education Week and encouraged all residents to make a commitment <br />to public education and to the future of our youth in North Olmsted. <br />Mayor Boyle also presented Mr. Frazier with a certificate of appreciation for the <br />school district's help with the City's first annual Veterans' Day breakfast. Mr. <br />Frazier also received a personal proclamation in recognition of being chosen as <br />a member of the 1991 Northeast Region School Board. T1~ honor was bestowed by <br />the Ohio School Board Association in recognition of Mr. Frazier's fourteen years <br />of service to the North 0]msted Board of Education. <br />Mayor Boyle reported: 1) County Club Boulevard, including Victoria Lane and <br />Kennedy Ridge between Butternut and Victoria, is scheduled to open Friday, <br />November 22. Landscaping for this area will be canpleted in 1992. <br />2) Before Council this evening, is Ordinance 91-175 which will allow for tax <br />incentives to residents who make lwme improvements. It is hoped that Council <br />will invite members of the School Board, Chamber of Commerce, C~.ity Improve- <br />ment Corporation, and interested residents to the committee meetings to discuss <br />this legislation. This is an important piece of legislation because it is the <br />groundwork for future City projects. <br />3) The State Highway Patrol is now permanently patrolling I-480; they will be <br />doing accident investigations as well as ticketing speeders. <br />1 <br />,~~,~ ~. <br />
