ro <br />MINUTES OF THE FETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTID <br />SEPTEL~ER 3, 1991 <br />Present: Council President Boehmer, Council Members Babas, Leonard, <br />Lind, McKay, Nashar, Beringer, Tallon. <br />Also Present: Mayor Ed Boyle, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance Director <br />James Burns, Clerk of Council Barbara Semen. <br />Council President Boetuner called the meeting to order at 8:05 p.m. in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag. <br />Minutes of the meeting of August 20, 1991 were approved as written. <br />President Boehmer announced that Resolution No. 91-104 would be removed from <br />the agenda, Resolution No. 91-121 would be passed under suspension of the <br />rules, and Ordinance No. 91-124 would be added to the agenda. <br />Mayor Boyle reported: 1) Today, a new police officer was sworn in. This <br />completes the complement of officers funded by Council- earlier this year. We <br />now have 49 officers, 37 of whom are patrolmen. <br />2) On Friday morning, we will dedicate the playground. equipment at Barton- <br />Bradley Park which was donated by Halleen Chevrolet. <br />3) On Tuesday, September 10, the Planning Commission will hear the Shore West <br />plans for development of the cluster homes at North Olmsted Golf Course. <br />Residents of the Pebblebrook area have been notified of this meeting. Shore <br />West has met with the Pebblebrook residents and all residents whose properties <br />are adjacent to the development. <br />Law Director Gareau reported: 1) The report of the commissioner in the Cater <br />case has been received. Briefs will be filed within the next three weeks, and <br />the case will go to oral argument sometime within the next two months. <br />Mr. Tallon, Chairperson of the Finance Committee reported: 1) The Finance <br />Committee met on August 29 at 7:30 p.m. with Finance Director Burns in <br />attendance. The following items were discussed: <br />a. Resolution 91-104, which authorizes the Director of Personnel and <br />Administrative Services to solicit bids for the purchase of life insurance <br />policies insuring full-time administrative employees and all elected public <br />officials for term insurance in the amount of ten thousand dollars. The <br />Committee decided to amend the resolution so that the initiation date would be <br />January 1, 1992. However, at a subsequent meeting held this evening, the <br />committee learned of a possible cost increase by delaying. Therefore, the <br />legislation has been removed from the agenda until more information can be <br />obtained. <br />
