<br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />AUGUST 20, 1991 <br />Present: Council President Boehmer, Council Members Bahas, Leonard, Lind, <br />McKay, Nashar, Saringer, Tallon. <br />Also Present: Mayor Ed Boyle, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance Director <br />James Burns, Clerk of Council Barbara Seman. <br />Council President Boehmer called the meeting to order at 8:05 p.m. in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag. <br />Minutes of the regular meeting of July 2, 1991 were approved as written. <br />Minutes of the special meeting of July 3, 1991 were approved as written. <br />Minutes of the special meeting of July 25, 1991 were approved as written. <br />President Boehmer announced that suspension of the rules would be asked on the <br />following legislation: Resolution Nos. 91-106, 91-107, 91-112, 91-113; Ordinance <br />No. 91-117. <br />Mayor Boyle presented the following proclamations: <br />Michael Clancy, who has retired from the North Olmsted Schools after 28 years of <br />service. Mr. Clancy was recognized for his service to the school system as a <br />teacher, administrator, and director. The Mayor proclaimed August 21, 1991 as <br />Michael R. Clancy Day and wished Mr. Clancy the best of health and happiness in <br />the future. Mr. Clancy was recognized by all present. Mr. Clancy expressed <br />appreciation and thanks. <br />The North Olmsted Hot Stove Class H baseball team sponsored by Seuffert <br />Construction, who won first place in the State competition on August 11 in <br />Alliance, Ohio. The team of nine and ten year olds finished their season with a <br />12-1 record. Each member of the team was presented a Certificate of Achievement. <br />The team was heartily congratulated by all. Manager Bill Kerr expressed his <br />gratitude for the recognition and also expressed pride in the boys for their hard <br />work and diligence. <br />Frank Forkapa, who has been named Safety Citizen for 1990. Mr. Forkapa received <br />his award for helping police capture a thief and recover items that had been <br />stolen from a North Olmsted residence. Mr. Forkapa's name will be inscribed on a <br />plaque which is in the lobby of City Hall. Mr. Forkapa was recognized by all <br />present; he expressed his appreciation and thanks. <br />Mayor Boyle reported: 1) At the last Council meeting, residents of Pebblebrook <br />~" were in attendance to express concern over the possibility of a street being <br />constructed on the southern side of Pebblebrook. This issue is tentatively set <br />to come before the Planning Comanisslon on September 10, and residents will <br />receive notification from his office. <br />1 <br /> <br />
