MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />JUNE 18, 1991 <br />Present: Council President Boehmer, Council Members Bahas, Leonard, <br />McKay, Nashar, Saringer, Tallon. <br />Also Present: Mayor Edward Boyle, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director James Burns, Clerk of Council Barbara Semen. <br />Council President Boehmer called the meeting to-order at 8:05 p.m. in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in reciting the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting of Jame 4, 1991 were approved as written. <br />The minutes of the special meeting of June 12, 1991 were approved as written. <br />President Boehmer axmounced that Ordinances 91-98 and 91-99 would be added to <br />the agenda; also, Resolution 91-94 and Ordinance 91-99 would be passed under <br />suspension of the rules. <br />Mayor Boyle presented a proclamation to Carrie Dunn, Girl Scout Troop 1067, <br />in recognition of her achievement of the Silver Award in Cadette Girl <br />Scouting. Carrie was congratulated and recognized by the Ac~ninistration, <br />Council and the audience. <br />Mayor Boyle presented a proclamation to Jennifer Adams, Girl Scout Troop 1067, <br />in recognition of her achievement of the Silver Award in Cadette Girl <br />Scouting. Jennifer was congratulated and recognized by the Administration, <br />Council and the audience. <br />A proclamation was presented to Dr. Dennis Allen, Superintendent of Schools, <br />in recognition of his being named as the 1991 District 12 Educator of the <br />Year. Dr. Allen accepted the award on behalf of the entire staff of the North <br />Olmsted Schools. Mayor Boyle proclaimed June 19, 1991 as Dr. Dennis L. Allen <br />Day in North Olmsted. Dr. Allen was congratulated and recognized by the <br />Administration, Council, and the audience. <br />Mayor Boyle reported: 1) We have received word from Cablevision that the <br />rates will go up on September 1, 1991. The rates will be increased <br />approximately 5%, not to exceed 6% for any household. <br />2) The City of Cleveland is raising our water rates. The $9.36 rate will go <br />up to $12.28; there will be a 45% increase from the $9.36 rate over the next <br />three years. <br />3) We have been having discussions with the greater Cleveland Regional Transit <br />Authority about a new bus garage and the feasibility of combining that garage <br />with a park-n-ride.
