The package will include an uninterruptable power supply so <br />that, if the power goes down within the facility, the programming within the <br />memory of telephones and ccxnputers will not be lost. The committee recatmends <br />approval. <br />Mr. Nashar, Chairperson of the Streets & Drainage Cam~ni.ttee, reported: 1) The <br />committee met on June 10. In attendance were committee members Musial, Saringer <br />and Nashar; Council Members Lind, Leonard, Babas and McKay; Service Director <br />Bohlmann. The following legislation was discussed: <br />a. Resolution 92-67 which authorizes the Director of Public Service to advertise <br />for bids for stormwater dry improvements on South Barton Road. Estimated <br />cost of this project is $50,000. Work should begin in mid-July. Once this <br />project is complete, the County will resurface South Barton Road. Tl~ committee <br />recommends approval. <br />Mr. Musial, Chairperson of the Recreation Committee, reported: 1) The Recreation <br />Committee met on June 10. In attendance were committee members Baths, Nashar and <br />Musial; Council Members Lind, Beringer, McKay and Leonard. The following <br />legislation was discussed: <br />a. Ordinance 92-70 which pertains to the use of North Olmsted Park by city <br />organizations who sponsor travelling shaves and carnivals. The committee felt it <br />could not make a decision without more input from city organizations; therefore, <br />Mr. Musial will arrange to meet with a number of city organizations. <br />Mrs. Babas, Council representative to the Recreation Commission, reported on the <br />meeting which was held on Wednesday, June 10. The Commission discussed the out- <br />come of the fund-raising carnival sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and <br />Kiwanis. For future events, the Commission suggested that residents living near <br />the park be notified in advance and that a chain of command be established for <br />notificatioa~ of rule violations. <br />The Commission also held a brief discussion of the July 4 festivities. <br />Mr. Leonard commented that such events were a maintenance problem for the Service <br />and Recreation Departments. Also, he wondered what the city received in rental <br />fees. Mrs. Babas did not have information on the rental fees. The Commission is <br />aware of the extra maintenance costs for such events. However, it should be <br />noted that the contract for this carnival had included payment for any damages to <br />the grounds. <br />Audience Partici ation <br />Je frey Tasse, 2 Quail Run, addressed Council on behalf of the Pheasant's Walk <br />and Quail Run Civic Association. Mr. Tasse spoke about the residents' concerns <br />dealing with the Crocker/Stearns project. Mayor Boyle and Council Members were <br />invited to attend a walk-througk~ of the residents' yards to see firsthand how <br />this project will impact their properties. Since Mr. Tasse last addressed <br />Council on March 3, 1992, the Association has contacted County Commsso~r <br />Petro, Congresswoman Oakar, the County Engineer, and the North Olmsted City <br />® Schools in an effort to secure funding for their requests.
