<br />Council Minutes of 5/19/92 <br />Audience Partici tion (continued) <br />c. cessive turnover o Activity Coordinators and Craft Instructors during the <br />past 2Z years. <br />Ms. Miller asked that Council check into these matters and presented her comments <br />in written form to Council President Boehmer. <br />Ron Cansky, 24048 Maple Ridge, addressed Council about cleaning up the city. He <br />made the following points: <br />a. Some residents do not care for their property--lawns are rat properly main- <br />tained and trash and junk are left in yards. <br />b. Rubbish is often put out several. days in advance of pickup. <br />c. Vehicles with "for sale" signs are left on private and commercial property. <br />d. Political sign pollution. <br />e. Bus routes down Maple Ridge have contributed to the street problems, and the <br />buses seem to be exceeding the speed limit. <br />d. The placement of mail boxes is not done with uniformity. <br />Mr. Cansky stated that he has called the police about these problems but has not <br />always been satisfied with their response. Mr. Cansky presented Council with a <br />number of photographs showing the violations that he has witnessed. Councilwomen <br />Saringer and Babas asked Mr. Cansky to call Council instead of the police to <br />remedy these situations. Mayor Boyle agreed that there was a problem with <br />political signs, acid the city is currently co~lucting a study on this. The Mayor <br />made the point that, due to financial reasons, the city has a shortage of <br />inspectors. He catmot expect city e;nployees to take their Down time on the way to <br />and from work to look for problems. We have seen a good deal of improvement in <br />our neighborhoods; now we are down to people who do not care. The city will cite <br />these residents because it is important to instill pride in our neighborhoods. <br />Fred Hatton, 5204 Porter Road, spoke in support of Tina Hlavaty, Senior Center <br />Administrator. He feels things are going very well at the Senior Center. Mr. <br />Hatton has sent a letter to the Mayor and will send letters to Council concerning <br />specific details about the Senior Center. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Or~inanee 1Vo. 92-38 introduced by Mr. McKay was given its third reading. An <br />ordinance to amernd Section 1701.13 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of <br />North Olmsted. Mr. McKay moved for adoption; second by Mr. Nashar; motion passed <br />unanimously. Ordinance No. 92-38 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 92-39 introduced by Mr. Nashar was given its third reading. An <br />emergency ordinance enacted by the City of North Olmmsted, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, <br />hereinafter referred to as the MtJDTICIPALITY, in the matter of the hereinafter <br />described improvement and requests the cooperation of the County of Cuyahoga by <br />its Board of County Commissioners, hereinafter referred to as the GdE3N'1.'Y. Mr. <br />Nashar moved for adoption; second by Mrs. Saringer; motion passed unanimously. <br />Ordinance No. 92-39 adopted. <br /> <br />6 <br />
