Council Minutes of 5/5/92 <br />a. The North Olmsted Nissan-Oldsmobile Dealership at 28500 Lorain Road presented <br />plans for an addition to the showroom and the parts and service departmonts. The <br />contractor, Mr. Stayanov, presented the plans which had previously been approved b3' <br />the ARB on March 18 and the Plarmi.ng Commission on April 14. The E`ineering <br />Department has given approval, an+d no comments have been received from the Safety <br />Department. The committee had no objections. Mrs. Beringer moved to approve the <br />addition to the North Olmsted Nissan-Oldsmobile Dealership with the rec - <br />tions of the ARB and Plarming Coimutssion; second. by Mr. Nashar; motion passed <br />unanimously. <br />b. A proposal from Rim's Store ~~2 at 4700 Great Northern Blvd. and Rini's Store <br />~~11 at 23100 Lorain Road to construct an addition to the front of each store. Bob <br />Acciarra with Draeger & Associates presented the plans which had been. approved by <br />the ARB on March 18 and Pla3:ming Commission on April 14. After. review of the <br />recommendations of both these boards, the committee had no objections. Mrs. <br />Beringer moved to approve the Rini proposal with the rec toms of the ARB and <br />the Planning Commission; second by Mr. Nashar; motion passed unan:imwu;sly. <br />c. A drive-up phone at the Shell station at Clague and Lorain Road had. previously <br />been approved. however, due to renovations, the phone must be moved. There were <br />no objections from the committee. Mrs. Beringer moved to approve the relocation of <br />the drive~up telephone at the Shell station at Clague aril Lorain Road; second by <br />Mr. Nashar; motion passed unanimously. <br />d. The committee approved drive-up phones for the Lube Stops at 25522 Lorain Road, <br />and at 28401 Lorain Road. Mrs. Beringer moved to approve these drive-up phones; <br />second by Mr. Nashar; motion passed unanimously. <br />e. A proposal for a phone near the Hill's Department Store was not approved by the <br />committee. A variance is needed for overhead wires, and the committee is opposed <br />to the granting of this variance and. will notify the Zoning Board. <br />Mr. McKay, Chairperson of the Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee, reported: <br />1) The co~mittee met on April 27. Present were Council Members Babas, Leonard, <br />Beringer, McKay; Safety Director Gundy; City Engineer Deichmann. Agenda items: <br />a. Ordinance 92-38 which regulates the installation of fire hydrants, both public <br />and private. This ordinance will give the Fire Chief the authority to approve the <br />location of private fire hydrants. The committee recommended passage. <br />b. A request for a stop sign at Oring and Martin Drives was discussed. This <br />request was made to control the speed of autos on Martin Drive. The committee <br />could not approve this sign because stop signs cannot be used to control speed per <br />the Ohio Revised Code 4511.65. However, the Safety Director will increase the <br />police patrols in that area to control speeders. <br />Mr. McKay, Chairperson of the Environmental Control CommLittee reported: 1) Along <br />- with Mr. Bohlmann, Mr. Wendell, and Mr. Wolff, visited the BFI facility in Russia <br />® Township. This is a new state-of-the-art facility with the most modern equipment. <br />BFI has made every attempt to blend the facility in with the ccxnn~mity. It is <br />screened from the road and there are soccer fields and a jogging track for public <br />use. <br />3 <br />
