The time aril effort spent
in securing Moen Inc. for North Olmsted has been well spent. This will be a great
addition to the city and is a great beginning to the city's economic development
package. Approximately 350 job, will come into our camumity, which will improve
our tax base. We have met with the school board, and the city will be sharing
taxes with the schools. Therefore, the schools will not lose money but will
realize a gain.
2) Today, our Fire Department helped deliver a baby. The dispatcher received a
frantic call from a father saying that the baby was on the way. Since all the
squads were out, a firefighter/paramedic instructed the father aver the telephone.
The squad arrived within a minute of the baby's birth. 6~ are proud of the way
our people handled this emergency, and it shows the value of the training that has
been put into our Fire Department.
3) We are also quite proud of one of our Recreation Center employees, Gina Crea.
Ms. Crea is a Special Olympics Instructor and traveled to Indianapolis with a
group of our children. We had quite a few medal winners from her team! She
certainly deserves a pat ~ the back for her efforts.
4) The Board of Control met recently and. approved the contract for Stoneybrook
Drive. Also, construction is continuing on Elm Road; and we are responding to
residents' parking concerns.
Mr. Leonard questioned if the city had mutual aid with surrounding cgnm<uiities who
could have responded to the medical emergency.
