~$ ~oaD
U -20
NAME:
West Park - Forest Ridge Civic Association (385 homes located
north of Lorain Road, east of the proposed Crocker/Stearns Road,
and immediately adjacent to the Project)
ADDRESS: c/o Mrs. June Whitmore,
28960 Hampton Dr.
North Olmsted, OH 44070
(Ph: 777-5927)
RECOMMENDATIONS:
COMMENTS
1. SAFETY FENCINGz It is the request and recommendation of the
Association that a chain-link fence, at least six feet high, be
installed and maintained along the eastern edge of the right of way
north from Lorain Road to at least the Westlake City boundary, The
purpose of this fence is to provide for public safety of children and
pets of the community, including Forest Elementary School and the many
children who walk to and from school down Hampton Drive, from straying
into a high speed throughway. This fence will also act as a deterrent
to intruders and trespassers entering rear yards from the roadway, or
the MetroPark. The fence should be located to the west of the barrier
described in recommendation 2 (i.e. between the barrier and the road).
2. AESTHETIC, POLLUTION, AMID SOUND BARRIER: It is the request and
recommendation of the Association that a natural closely-spaced
evergreen planting atop a natural earth mound be installed and
maintained along the eastern edge of the right of way north from
Lorain Road to at least the Westlake City boundary. These plantings
should be resistant to vehicle pollutant effluents. It is our
understanding that a mix of Australian Pine, any of the Spruce
varieties, and Scotch Pine (no White Pine) are hardy and pollution-
resistant species. The purpose of this planting is to provide a Bound
buffer from road noises to-the community, more gollution-free air, and
to provide an aesthetically pleasing visual isolation from road
traffic, especially at night in blocking unwanted headlight and other
illumination. The natural earth mound is requested to }~: installed
early in the Project to act as a barrier to isolate the back yards
from noise, dust, and pollutants during construction.
PLEASE RETtlRN THiS FO~t AT THE END OF THE MEETING, OR MAIL TO:
OJ.f'fice of the Cuyahoga County Engineer
~ anntn Department
1.70 Qn~ario Street
C eve and, Ohio 44113
All comments should be received by December 18, 1991.
Additional comments may be made on the back of this form or on a separate sheet of paper.
For more information contact the Office of the Cuyahoga County Engineer at the address above or calf
348-3800.
pGge 1 of 6
Chairperson, Crocker/Stearns Committee
PUBLIC COMMENTS:
