MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED DECEMBER 7, 2010 Present: President of Council Limpert, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Jones, Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski, Williamson Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Human Resources Farver, Director of Public Safety and Public Service Ritenauer, Director of Planning and Development Wenger President Limpert called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. The minutes of the Council meeting of November 16, 2010 were approved as written. The minutes of the special Council meeting of November 23, 2010 were approved as written. The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules: Second Reading -Ordinance 2010-146, Resolution 2010-148 an Ordinance 2010-153; First Reading -Resolutions 2010-156, 2010-157, and 2010-161. REPORTS Mayor Kennedy: • The Board of Control approved the city's health care renewal for TPA services and stop loss coverage with Medical Mutual of Ohio. There was a 1% increase this year that can be attributed to the city's increasing the stop loss from $75,000 to $100,000. • The negotiating team met with the FOP on November 30, 2010. The negotiating session lasted about three hours and both sides agreed to go to fact finding. The tentative date for fact finding is December 22, 2010. Dispatch negotiations begin on December 8, 2010. • Management received a request from the local IAFF President, Dave Boatman to meet to reopen negotiations. As previously reported, the union has not signed their current contract. • Patrol Officer, Daryl Longley, submitted his letter of retirement, with an effective date of February 18, 2011. He has been an officer with the city since December 11, 1977. Additionally, Captain Bob Schroder turned in his letter of resignation
