Council Minutes of 12-07-2010 <br />,, <br />effective January 7, 2011. He joined the fire department on October 3, 1977. He <br />thanked both men for their services to the city. <br />• The Cleveland Food Bank conducted their annual audit of the Food Pantry on <br />November 9, 2010. Food storage passed inspection, as did all levels of reporting. <br />Chris Allegra, pantry staff and volunteers provided Thanksgiving assistance to <br />over 100 North Olmsted families this past holiday. <br />• The Cultural Activities Commission sponsored its Third Annual Holiday Lights <br />Decorating Contest. Prizes will be awarded to the top three displays. Entry forms <br />can be found online and are due by December 13, 2010. <br />• The City of North Olmsted is participating in the Cuyahoga County Municipal <br />Energy Program. The city is one of forty communities that will be conducting a <br />comprehensive energy audit of all city facilities at no cost to the city. The project <br />will begin within the next few months. <br />• Building permits issued in November included O'Reilly's Auto for a construction <br />project for $250,000 and AT&T for generator replacement project in the amount <br />of $470,000. <br />• Wastewater Treatment Plant Class III Operator interviews have been conducted <br />this week and are ongoing. The City and Cleveland State University are working <br />together to provide summer environmental internships for students to increase the <br />assistance of the mercury variance program at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. <br />• The problem with the light at Fire Station No. 2 with keeping accurate time is <br />being investigated and will hopefully be resolved soon. <br />• Shift work in the Service Dept. began December 5, 2010. The final brush round <br />up concluded December 2, 2010. <br />• His annual State of the City address at the Chamber of Commerce will be held <br />Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the Radisson at 11:30a.m. <br />• The work on the swimming pool beams at the Recreation Center started on <br />December 1, 2010 and should be completed this week. Rink flooring has been <br />installed to complete the walkway from the locker room 6 to the bleacher side of <br />the rink door. Varsity swim and hockey seasons are underway. <br />• Springvale is concluding the year with several holiday parties. They will begin <br />projects in the ballroom and clubhouse after January 1, 2011. <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />• He prepared and filed a timely answer in the foreclosure matter of Lakeview <br />Holding LLC vs. Soboslay. <br />• The Fair Housing Review Board hosted an essay contest for any high school <br />senior living in North Olmsted. Notices were sent to all schools and various press <br />releases were issued regarding the contest. Unfortunately, the City received no <br />entries. <br />• On November 4, 2010, he advised the Administration concerning issues and <br />procedures relative to the contracting process for BFI and the trash hauling <br />extension. <br />2 <br />
