MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED NOVEMBER 16, 2010 Present: President of Council Limpert, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Jones, Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski, Williamson Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Human Resources Farver, Director of Public Safety and Public Service Ritenauer, Director of Planning and Development Wenger President Limpert called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. Councilwoman Jones made a motion to adjourn into executive session to discuss labor negotiations and ongoing litigation. The motion was seconded by Councilman Mahoney and passed unanimously. Adjourn into executive session at 8:02 p.m. Reconvene at 8:27 p.m. The minutes of the Council meeting of November 3, 2010 were approved as written. The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules: Second Reading -Ordinance 2010-136 & Resolution 2010-137; First Reading - Resolutions 2010-140, 2010-143, 2010-145, 2010-149 & Ordinances 2010-151 and 2010- 152. REPORTS Mayor Kennedy: • The Economic Development Directors of the west shore communities have begun quarterly meetings to discuss regional economic development issues. • The Cultural Activities Commission is sponsoring the third annual holiday lights decorating contest. Entry forms are available online or through the Clerk of Commissions' office. • Detective Ray Barda and firefighter Matt Peters have been selected as this year's Officers of the Year. The VFW will honor these officers Wednesday, November 17. • He thanked the Boy Scouts for investing their time and talents in building the new buildings for the city's Safety Town. _. i
