,~ ..
negatively impact the whole community.
The sidewalk needs to be kept clear this winter. I understand that this does take
personnel to do this. However, homeowners are expected to keep our sidewalks cleared,
the city should be expected to do the same. As a city we are able to have the personnel
maintain a golf course, keeping our sidewalks clear and safe should be a higher priority if
you ask me. The sidewalk on the bridge has not been consistently cleared in the S years
I've lived in North Olmsted.
Also the issue of drilling into the bridge could add to the degradation of the bridge.
Holes have already been drilled into it to anchor the fence that prevents people from
throwing things onto 480 below it. Even if it means having to repair the bridge more
frequently, the safety of everyone should come first.
As far as the fence having extra wear because of the rocks and salt that get thrown up
from cars driving across the road surface, my reply is: I would rather have those pieces
hit a fence and have to replace the fence than having them hit whoever is crossing the
bridge. I know a fence would not stop everything from being hitting people who are
walking across the bridge, but even if it stopped some of the road debris it would be
beneficial to whoever is walking.
Thank you for listening to my concerns
Maureen Shear
5646 Canterbury Rd
