r <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />OCTOBER 19, 2010 <br />Present: President of Council Limpert, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Jones, <br />Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski, Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, <br />Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Human Resources Farver, Director of <br />Public Safety and Public Service Ritenauer, Director of Planning and <br />Development Wenger <br />President Limpert called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of October 5, 2010 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules: <br />Second Reading -Ordinance 2010-130, Resolution 2010-131, Ordinance 2010-133; First <br />Reading -Resolution 2010-134 & Ordinance 2010-135. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• He presented a proclamation to the North Olmsted Kiwanis for their 80`n <br />anniversary. <br />• The four firefighters funded by the 2009 SAFER Grant were sworn in Monday, <br />October 18, 2010. <br />• He, the Director of Safety/Service and Councilwoman Nicole Dailey Jones <br />attended a Council of Government meeting last week to hear ESCI's presentation <br />on the final draft of the fire district study. <br />• The Boy Scouts will be painting new Safety Town buildings the last two <br />weekends in October at Fire Station No. 2. <br />• A small kitchen fire occurred on October 11 on Arlington Drive. The fire was <br />contained to the kitchen area with damages estimated to be between $30,000 and <br />$50,000. <br />• The 2010 fall leaf collection program began October 18 in Ward IV. <br />• The Administration secured a favorable price for a ton of bulk treated rock salt <br />from Cargill through the public bidding process. <br />• The fleet mechanics are currently working to prepare the salt spreading equipment <br />for this winter. <br />„~ .,.. .,,a~,. ~~,..,., ~ s . ti.-- <br />
