<br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />OCTOBER 5, 2010 <br />Present: President of Council Limpert, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Jones, <br />Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski, Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, <br />Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Human Resources Farver, Director of <br />Public Safety and Public Service Ritenauer, Director of Planning and <br />Development Wenger <br />President Limpert called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of September 21, 2010 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules: <br />Second Reading -Resolution 2010-122; First Reading -Resolution 2010-132. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• On Tuesday, September 28, 2010 he met with 6th graders at Maple school who are <br />running for office to talk about campaign strategies. He will return to the school <br />after the elections to see the results. <br />• The City of North Olmsted is eligible to participate in the County's Municipal <br />Energy Grant Program, which will enable the City to complete an energy audit of <br />all city buildings and infrastructure. One hundred percent of the cost of the audit <br />will be grant funded. The audit must meet particular US Department of Energy <br />requirements. The audit can then be used by the City in applying for future <br />energy grants and funding opportunities. <br />• Tom Rice, Assistant Superintendent of the Waste Water Treatment Plant <br />(WWTP), will be retiring January 31, 2011. <br />• Four firefighters being recalled will be sworn in at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, <br />October 18, 2010 in Council Chambers. <br />• There will be a meeting Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. for ESCI's <br />findings and recommendations related to the regional fire district. <br />• Ken Hehnen has been chosen by the Cleveland Clinic EMS Council to receive an <br />award for service rendered to a citizen in need in 2009 and 2010.
