Marie Gallo

From: PDNEWS4U@aol.com
Sent: Thursday, September 09, 2010 11:44 PM
To: gallom@north-olmsted.com
Subject: To the member of the City council
To the members of the City Council...
,.-.~
Ms Gallom I wish to hove this letter read into the minutes.
Dear Members,
As a breeder living in Seven Hills, and friend to ninny breeders living in North Olmsted, I am very
much opposed to passing nn ordinance against breeding dogs.
Many of us are respected breeders that take great care, and go to great lengths to keep our dogs
quiet and well behaved in order to not call attention to ourselves. Many of our neighbors are
surprised to hear we even have dogs nt times.
Surely you can understand the difference between good dog people and bad dog people, breeders or
not! My understanding is that one person has caused this ordinance to come about and quite
honestly, it is extremely unfair to punish good, conscientious dog people and breeders because of
one or two bad. The many recently passed BSL laws were passed because of bad owners, and too
ninny good dogs are being put down and abandoned because the cities were too afraid to punish the
people who were creating them, and found it easier to punish the dogs, what a ashnme! If you
pass such an ordinance, your city will be following suit and taking the easy way out, by punishing
everybody, and it will certainly not hurt that backyard breeder who doesn't give a damn about
their dogs or their neighbors; only the almighty dollar, you can be sure they will find a way to
breed their dogs around your ordinance, while the rest us follow the law... it will hurt those of us
who very much core about our dogs since we only breed to improve the breed, and our lines which
ninny have spent many years developing. By careful breeding practices, we produce sound, healthy,
dogs with great temperaments that are also respected members of the community. Some by
becoming Canine Good Citizens and Thtrapy dogs.
Please, oppose this ordinance so that the good people and dogs, are protected for a change. Your
actions could be opening the door for neighboring communities to adopt the same, complaints or no
complaints, just ns the BSL laws did. It is simply not right and not fair to good law abiding
citizens. VOTE NO!
Respectfully,
Robin Hannon
Seven Hills, OH
9/10/2010
,.., .. .
