t~ <br />~ta <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />AUGUST 17, 2010 <br />Present: President of Council Limpert, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Jones, <br />Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski, Williamson. <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Law Director Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, Clerk <br />of Council Gallo, Director of Human Resources Farver, Director of Public <br />Safety and Public Service Ritenauer, Director of Planning and <br />Development Wenger. <br />President Limpert called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the special Council meeting of July 20, 2010 were approved as written. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of August 3, 2010 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: Second Reading -Ordinances 2010-92, 2010-94, 2010-95 and Resolution <br />2010-102. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• The Olmsted Historical Society has been designated a Preserve America Steward <br />for their work at Frostville. This is a federal designation that recognizes the OHS <br />for their contributions to historic preservation. Since the program was created in <br />2008, only 21 programs have been awarded this designation nationwide. <br />• Fish Furniture applied for a building permit for their expansion last week. The <br />value of this project is estimated at $500,000. <br />• The Community Development Block Grant public hearing is scheduled for <br />Wednesday, August 25 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers. The meeting will <br />be an opportunity for the community to share their thoughts on possible grant <br />projects with representatives from the City and the Cuyahoga County Department <br />of Development. <br />• As of June, the City's health care costs are down $252,000 from last year at the <br />same time. This is primarily because no claims have exceeded stop-loss. If this <br />trend continues, it could positively impact 2011 renewal rates. <br />~.,.~. _.ti-..v,, .. , <br />~. ,~ <br />
