<br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />JULY 20, 2010 <br />Present: President of Council Limpert, Council Members Barker, Brossard, <br />Dailey Jones, Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski, Williamson. <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, <br />Director of Human Resources Farver, Clerk of Council Gallo. <br />Absent: Director of Safety Ritenauer, Director of Planning Wenger. <br />President Limpert called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />President Limpert announced that the following legislation would be considered for <br />passage under suspension of the rules: Second Reading -Resolution 2010-78 and <br />Ordinance 2010-79. First Reading -Ordinance 2010-81 and Resolution 2010-93. <br />REPORTS <br />Councilman Barker, Chairman of the Finance Committee: <br />The Finance Committee met June 29, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Present were Council committee <br />members Barker, Kearney and Jones; Council President Limpert; Council members <br />Brossard, Orlowski and Williamson; Mayor Kennedy; Director of Law Gareau, Director <br />of Finance Director Copfer, Director of Human Resources Farver and Administrative <br />Assistant Jane Leaver. <br />• Resolution 2010-78 - A Resolution authorizing the Director of Human Resources <br />to advertise for bids for Comprehensive Municipal Liability, Automotive Liability <br />and Physical Damage, Public Officials Errors and Omissions, Police Professional <br />Liability, Property, Inland Marine, Boiler and Machinery, Broad Form Crime, <br />EDP, Umbrella, Liquor Liability and other various insurance coverage required <br />by the City of North Olmsted, as a package, and authorizing the Mayor to enter <br />into a contract for said insurance package with the lowest and best bidder, and <br />subject to approval by the Board of Control. This is for athree-year bid for an <br />umbrella package of $10 million with $1 million per occurrence. Director of <br />Human Resources Farver also gave a brief explanation for all of the different <br />coverages. Premiums have gone down since 2004, and this year there was a close <br />to 90% reduction from the prior year. Councilman Barker made a motion to <br />recommend approval of Resolution 2010-78.
