~ r r <br />3: <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MAY 5, 2010 <br />Present: President of Council Limpert, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Jones, <br />Mahoney, Orlowski, Williamson. <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Law Director Gareau, Clerk of Council Gallo, Safety <br />Director Ritenauer, Planning Director Wenger, Human Resources Director <br />Farver. <br />Absent: Councilman Kearney, Finance Director Copfer <br />President Limpert called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of April 20, 2010 were approved as written. <br />President Limpert announced no legislation would be suspended this evening. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• The City of North Olmsted received a grant of $5,000 from Cuyahoga County for <br />the creation of a community garden. The garden will be located on city property <br />at Butternut Ridge; the same property that will be used for the future food <br />cupboard. There will be an informal meeting for those who want to learn more <br />about the garden or how to get involved on Saturday, May 15 at 2 p.m. at the <br />library. <br />• The City has entered into an agreement with design consultant Studio Graphique <br />to create a City identity primarily for use in gateway signage. He invites the <br />community to share their ideas at a meeting held Thursday, May 20 at 7 p.m. in <br />City Council Chambers. <br />• The North Olmsted Branch Library will be hosting a program called Researching <br />the Underground Railroad in North Olmsted this Thursday, May 6 at 7 p.m. <br />Registration is required. <br />• During the month of April, 144 building permits were issued. <br />• The plans for First Merit were sent to the plans examiner earlier this week. The <br />project should be ready for permit within two weeks. The cost of the project is <br />around $700,000. <br /> <br />
