t <br />~:, <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />APRIL 20, 2010 <br />Present: President of Council Limpert, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Jones, <br />Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski, Williamson. <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Gallo, Safety Director Ritenauer, Planning Director Wenger, <br />Human Resources Director Farver. <br />President Limpert called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of April 6, 2010 were approved as written. <br />President Limpert announced that the following legislation would be considered for <br />passage under suspension of the rules: Second Reading -Ordinance 2010-38, Resolution <br />2010-42 and Resolution 2010-44; First Reading -Resolution 2010-46, Resolution 2010- <br />47, Ordinance 2010-51 and Ordinance 2010-52. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• The utility pole destroyed during an accident at Great Northern Blvd. and Lorain <br />is currently harnessed to a new pole in order to prevent collapse. CEI was out <br />Monday morning to make initial repairs and Signal Service will begin the process <br />of installing a conduit box on the new pole. Once that is completed, the pole <br />destroyed during the accident can be removed. <br />• The city's Household Hazardous Waste Round-Up, sponsored by the Cuyahoga <br />County Solid Waste District, runs from April 19 through May 2. Citizens may <br />bring household hazardous waste materials to the city service yard on these dates. <br />Latex paint, business waste and medical waste are not permitted. <br />• The North Olmsted Police Department is still in the running for the COPS grant. <br />They will continue to monitor the status of the grant and grant application. <br />• On Saturday, May 8, the West Shore Enforcement Bureau Narcotics Task Force <br />will be sponsoring the first Operation Medicine Cabinet. This program will allow <br />residents to drop off outdated and unwanted prescription medication that will <br />properly and safely be disposed of by the Task Force. The drop-off center will be <br />the North Olmsted Police Department between gam and 2pm. The program is <br />~rrw. _.,..,~. <br />
