MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MARCH 16, 2010 <br />Present: President of Council Limpert, Council Members Barker, Brossard, <br />Dailey Jones, Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski, Williamson. <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Law Director Gareau, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Gallo. <br />President Limpert called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of March 2, 2010 were approved as written. <br />President Limpert announced that the following legislation would be considered for <br />passage under suspension of the rules: Second Reading -Ordinance 2010-24, <br />Resolutions 2010-27 and 2010-28; First Reading -Resolutions 2010-32, 2010-33, 2010- <br />34, 2010-35, and Ordinance 2010-37. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• On Thursday, March 4, he had a business "Meet and Greet" at Springvale hosted <br />by him and Planning Director Kim Wenger, Greg Myers, and Paquita Hansberry <br />from the County to talk to some of the local business about how the city can help <br />them out; some of the different county programs and how a better relationship <br />with them can be established. It went well and he thanked Kim Wenger and the <br />people at Springvale. <br />• On Wednesday, March 10, 2010 the West Shore Council of Governments met and <br />they discussed the fire district study as well as Tricia Granfors who is going to be <br />the new CERT Director. All of the communities agreed to pay Tricia $2,500, and <br />they expect 15 hours of her time for the CERT program. <br />• Captain Greg Gettens has retired after 38 years with the North Olmsted Fire <br />Department. <br />• Emergency Services Consulting, Inc. conducted two public hearings last week to <br />discuss the progress of the Fire District study. The majority of attendees were <br />firefighters from the various communities affected by the possible regionalization <br />of the fire service. <br /> <br />
