Council Minutes of 03-16-2010 <br />~~-~. <br />w~' <br />Fair Housing month of April. The age groups are fourth grade through twelfth <br />grade. The theme is Celebrate Home North Olmsted. There are cash prizes <br />available for first and second place. Anybody with questions can contact his <br />Administrative Assistant, Annie Kilbane. <br />Finance Director Copfer: <br />• She assisted the Mayor and his Administration with developing a budget, <br />compiling that budget, adjusting it for all the concessions and presenting it in a <br />meaningful format for Council to review during budget hearings. She hopes <br />Council found the process informative and felt that they were provided the <br />appropriate level of details supporting the budget such as the detailed payroll <br />spreadsheets and the narrative on the non-payroll expenditures and any changes in <br />operations. <br />• She thanked her Secretary, Donna Murphy, for putting the budget books together <br />after she had completed entering all the detail into the financial accounting system <br />and making countless changes over the last couple of months. She also thanked <br />the division and department heads for making it such a smooth process. <br />• On March 9 she attended the Mayor's Business Meet and Greet. She thinks the <br />business owners really felt appreciated that the city cares about what's going on <br />with their businesses and what their needs might be. <br />• On March 10 she participated in the Health Care Committee meeting as an <br />advisor. The Committee has a recommendation that will be presented to the <br />Administration. <br />• On March 10 she also went to the Westlake presentation of the fire district. She <br />thought it was very informative and thorough. She looks forward to the second <br />phase of their process. <br />• On March 11 she participated in the firefighter pre-conciliation negotiating <br />session that resulted in both sides working to come together to an agreement that <br />did provide their required $410,000 that makes this budget possible while keeping <br />appropriate staffing levels. <br />• Today she also attended the proactive property maintenance initiative presented <br />by the Law Department. She went to a couple of presentations by the County <br />Land Bank and had been communicating with Director Wenger on proactive <br />approaches to foreclosure issues. <br />Mayor Kennedy thanked the firefighters who accepted a tough contract, but it's <br />something that the residents needed. He looks forward in the future to working more <br />closely with them. <br />Councilman Barker, Chairman of the Finance Committee: <br />The Finance Committee met to discuss 2010-24 an Ordinance to make appropriations for <br />current expenses and other expenditures for the City of North Olmsted for the year <br />4 <br /> <br />
