A second Committee of the Whole meeting was held this <br />evening at 7:30 p.m. The error was that they were to have a Ward Councilperson and a <br />Councilperson at-Large on the Ethics Commission, not two Ward Council members. <br />They were also to be of different political parties. Councilwoman Jones was replaced by <br />Councilman Mahoney on the Ethics Commission. The Ethics Commission will have an <br />organizational meeting on January 26, 2010 at 6:45 p.m. Legislation to be tabled at the <br />next Council meeting was also discussed: Ordinance 2006-155, Ordinance 2007-135, <br />Ordinance 2007-94, Ordinance 2008-131, Ordinance 2008-122, Ordinance 2009-6, <br />Ordinance 2009-91. <br />Councilman Barker made a motion to approve the committee assignments for the year <br />2010. The motion was seconded by Councilman Orlowski and passed unanimously. <br />2010 committee assignments approved. <br />Councilman Barker, former Vice Chairman of the Finance Committee: <br />• The Finance Committee met January 12, 2010 at 7:50 p.m. Present were Council <br />President Limpert; Council committee members Barker, Brossard, Jones, <br />Orlowski, Williamson, Kearney, and Mahoney. Resolution 2010-2 is a <br />Resolution authorizing the Mayor to advertise for bids for diesel fuel and gasoline <br />products for use by the City of North Olmsted as per specifications on file, and <br />authorizing the Mayor to contract for the same, and declaring an emergency. <br />This is for going out to bid on fuel for City vehicles. Last year the City spent <br />$366,104.79 for fuel which breaks down to 172,438.7 gallons of gas or fuel. Last <br />year, the City purchased Regular, Diesel, Regular Unleaded and Premium Diesel <br />fuel. The specifications for this year will be for Regular Diesel and Regular <br />Unleaded only. The city averaged between $1.99 and $2.24 per gallon on the <br />different fuels last year. After a brief discussion and request for suspension by <br />Dr. Thomas, a motion to recommend approval with suspension was made by <br />Councilman Barker and seconded by Councilman Kearney, and the vote was 3-0 <br />for approval. <br />• Resolution 2010-3 is a Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into cone-year <br />extension of the agreement with Senior Transportation Connection (STC) for the <br />provision of motor fuels used in the operation of transit bus services.
