Council Minutes of 12-20-2011 <br />ICJ <br />480. The Broxbourne panels have been finalized. All WWTP employees have <br />completed their AED training. <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />• The have been eight additional referrals to the Law Dept. regarding property <br />maintenance. Four of those have resulted in immediate charges being filed and <br />four warning letter were issued. An ongoing tax delinquency, and also a property <br />maintenance issue, is the building across the street from the Powerhouse Gym. <br />• On Wednesday, December 14 he participated in labor negotiations with the FOP. <br />Those negotiations will continue on Thursday, December 22. <br />• The fire damaged house on the corner of Birch and Coe has been razed. The <br />house will be rebuilt on that site. <br />• Last week he and Carole Heyward, Asst Director of Law, met with <br />representatives from Housing & Development to discuss initiatives with the Fair <br />Housing Review Board and Fair Housing Ordinances. They also want to discuss <br />the status of complaints over the past couple of years concerning fair housing <br />violations. <br />• Ashley Belzer, Law Dept. Clerk, has tendered her resignation. She graduates <br />from Cleveland Marshall College of Law and will be preparing for the Ohio Bar <br />Examination. She has been offered afull-time position with another municipality. <br />Director of Finance Copfer: <br />• She has been preparing for and participating in labor negotiations, has been <br />working on 2012 appropriations and estimated resources and also working on <br />2011 year-end review of budget and transactions for any errors and shortfalls that <br />were required to be adjusted before the end of the year. <br />• October and November month-end financial summaries were E-mailed to <br />Council. They also received Schedule A from the County Budget Commission. <br />Even though it's not a reappraisal year, the assessed valuation lost $7 million in <br />commercial values and $1 million in residential. She requested the detail <br />regarding this. <br />Councilman Barker, Chairman of the Finance Committee: <br />The Finance Committee met Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. Present were <br />committee members Barker, Kearney and Schumann; Council President Limpert; Council <br />members Brossard, Mahoney, Orlowski and Williamson; Mayor Kennedy, Finance <br />Director Copfer, Asst Finance Director Howlett and Safety/Service Director Thomas. <br />• Discussed was Ordinance 2011-138, which is an Ordinance amending <br />Administrative Code Section 131.01 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of <br />North Olmsted to provide authorization for the Mayor to sign and file grant <br />application forms to obtain supplemental revenue or other tangible resources for <br />the benefit of the City of North Olmsted, excepting however grants wherein city <br />2 <br />
