<br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />NOVEMBER 22, 2011 <br />Present: President of Council Limpert, Council Members Brossard, Mahoney, <br />Orlowski, Schumann, Williamson. <br />Absent: Council members Barker and Kearney, Directors Gareau, Copfer Wenger <br />and Thomas <br />President Limpert called the meeting to order at 7:45 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: First Reading -Resolutions 2011-129 & 2011-130. <br />REPORTS <br />Councilwoman Williamson, Chairwoman of the Finance Committee: <br />The Safety Committee met Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 7:03 p.m. <br />• Discussed first was Resolution 2011-129 which is a Resolution authorizing and <br />directing the Director of Public Safety to make application on behalf of the City <br />of North Olmsted for participation in, and grant funding for, the combined 2012 <br />"OVI Task Force Overtime" and "Click It or Ticket" grants; and further <br />authorizing the Mayor to accept the grants if awarded and to execute a contract <br />for the same, and declaring an emergency. The committee voted 3-0 to <br />recommend approval of Resolution 2011-129 with suspension. <br />• Discussed next was Resolution 2011-130 which is a Resolution authorizing the <br />Division of Youth and Family Services Administrator to apply for the 2009 <br />Juvenile Accountability Block Grant with the Cuyahoga County Department of <br />Justice Affairs; further authorizing the Mayor, if the application is granted, to <br />enter into an agreement with Cuyahoga County to accept said grant funds, and <br />declaring an emergency. The committee voted 3-0 to recommend approval of <br />Resolution 2011-130 with suspension. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Resolution 2011-129 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy.
