<br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />SEPTEMBER 20, 2011 <br />Present: President of Council Limpert; Council Members Barker, Kearney, <br />Mahoney, Orlowski, Schumann, Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, <br />Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Planning and Development Wenger, <br />Director of Safety and Service Thomas, and Director of Human Resources <br />Farver. <br />Absent: Council Member Brossard <br />President Limpert called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules: <br />Second Reading -Resolutions 2011-95 and 2011-97 and Ordinance 2011-98; First <br />Reading -Resolution 2011-101. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />~ T'he Springvale Golf Course Renovations project is nearing completion. A <br />change order was approved at BOC today to replace additional drain pipes and a <br />catch basin that were found to be collapsed or otherwise not working. <br />~ Within the last two weeks, we have received the "Notice to Negotiate" form from <br />the State Employees Relation Board (SERB) for the Police and Fire Departments. <br />As we begin this process, I think it is important to realize that our expense for <br />labor counsel has been significantly reduced over the years. For the last five <br />years, the city has spent: <br />$ 74,686 2007 <br />$ 72,391 2008 <br />$ 64,303 2009 <br />$ 55,975 2010 <br />$ 16,273 2011 (to date) <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />
